Some div on here will come back with the 13, 17, 21 or whatever number of games it is that makes us look like world beaters and everyone else as sliding down the table. Our form is red hot. Fact. Olallana Posted 10 March, 2013 Share Posted 10 March, 2013 21 shots 0 goals yesterday. Going well for our this isn't it. I am just answering the OP, you should try that for once.... But for the record. 4 games yesterday, the teams with most shots in each individual game had 3 wins and 1 draw. Sounds like a good return on that kind of stats to me. S-Clarke Posted 10 March, 2013 Share Posted 10 March, 2013 Look at Sunderland and Reading....right at the bottom. And Wigan are level on pts anyway, so we've both been as bad. I don't know if it's blind faith or whatever, but I keep looking at our remaining fixtures and comparing those with the teams around us and I think we'll be fine - not as comfortable as I thought we'd be, but that's another debate. Sunderland are in deep, deep **** though. I thought they'd start to pull away but after their game against Norwich next week they've got....Man Utd, Chelsea, Newcastle, Everton back to back. Ouch. If they don't beat Norwich then they are absolutely screwed.

Jack Posted 10 March, 2013 Share Posted 10 March, 2013 Really should've won that yesterday and things would have been looking ok. I think Sunderland could get dragged into it, not in good form at all and got a fairly tough run in. We need to surprise either Chelsea or Liverpool and really find some form in the games after that. Need to start converting some of these chances.
Leicestersaint Posted 10 March, 2013 Share Posted 10 March, 2013 It is a real shame how our form has changed since we changed our manager. A very silly thing to do when we were doing well and in the top half of the form guide. Let's hope we can turn this round.

madruss Posted 10 March, 2013 Share Posted 10 March, 2013 Norwich aren't totally safe either. They play wigan, reading and villa, and their other fixtures are pretty dire including a finish at the etihad. They were really poor yesterday, and I can't see where their points are going to come from. Luckily for them they don't need that many

Home to Norwich or away to Norwich? Did you or did you not say we're playing "much better" under MP than before under Adkins based on us having more shots at goal per game in his first six games than Adkins last 9. As I didn't go yesterday it's Impossible to say, but wee looked good for a hour in the home game and didn't win due to a goalkeeping error, we got the same return in terms of points yesterday due to an saved penalty, based on that I'd have to say the home performance was better.what about you? They will just plod along from now until the end of the season. 3 or 4 points from 27 isn't going to be an issue. I see the troubled sides being....QPR, Reading, Wigan, Villa, Ourselves, Sunderland and maybe Newcastle, but I doubt it come the end.

My opinion.....home to Norwich were almost as bad as Sunderland at home. Says it all I guess.... Having different opinions is perfectly fine for me, but you are just mocking stats that are perfectly valid as they have been put out. I said that we are playing much better, and that the way we are playing now will give us a better chance to have sustainable success. I still think so but as I also said, we aren´t there yet due to lack of quality in the final 3rd.

Badger Posted 10 March, 2013 Share Posted 10 March, 2013 Interesting looking at form tables, but another factor is the 'blank Saturday' to bugger up any momentum which can work either for or against you. I think you may have been in some kind of coma. People on here have been banging on about our "amazing" form stats non stop, then gradually extending or contracting the number of games to whatever number made it look like we were guaranteed to finish loads higher than West Ham. All the horsesh it about us finishing tenth was basically extrapolated out of the "form" from one flipping game.

Barry Sanchez Posted 8 April, 2013 Share Posted 8 April, 2013 Classic. Just classic. I still think finishing 10th is a tall order, this could be close to the 40/41 points mark for the 3rd relegated team, I shall be happy with us just being safe and building a side that can compete for the whole season. Saint Without a Halo Posted 8 April, 2013 Share Posted 8 April, 2013 Anyone that thinks now, or thought at any point this season that we will finish tenth is a moron. Well the chances of finishing 10th are now 15% looking at the probable outcomes and far less than 1% to be relegated. Why do people who held very credible opinions that a 10th place finish was possible have to be insulted just because you hold a differing opinion? I have supported Saints 40 years and i certainly know when we are in a relegation battle and have relegation form! We are in neither of these positions today and need to look upwards! I will be surprised if the 3rd from bottom team this year is on more than 38 points! It Only needs one of Wigan Stoke Sunderland Aston villa and Norwich to get 4 points or less from their remaining games. Given these teams are all in the bottom half it is highly probable this will happen. you only need to look at any form table over a season to see at least 4 or 5 teams have 4 point or less from a 6 game run.
