Saint Garrett Posted 26 April, 2013 Share Posted 26 April, 2013 Yeah, I watched the teaser earlier. What else is said? I got rid of my SaintsPlayer membership this season as there is so much content everywhere else!
Saint-Armstrong Posted 26 April, 2013 Share Posted 26 April, 2013 Summary: He didn’t know the background situation when he signed for Saints Liked Jan Poortvliet, he had good ideas but was inexperienced and the English Championship needs experience. When Saints were going down, he remembers there were some big arguments between players, everyone was worrying about how it would affect their families and were concerned for the club. Cortese had an offer from a club for Morgan, he called Morgan in and rejected the offer right in front of Schneiderlin’s face and said “Morgan, I know you are just 18 – but you are going to grow with this club, just like Adam Lallana” Nicola doesn’t just say things, he does them – and he does them in front of you Believed the ambition when Lambert signed, and the likes of Lallana also committed to the club In League One he couldn’t finish a game without being tired after 50 minutes In England, it is so different how you play – it is so open When I came, I was alone and 18 and my lifestyle wasn’t the same as it is now After a game, I did not know what to do – ony mday off, maybe I did not do the right thing His family told him he had to get it sorted He had a nutritionist provided to bring food to his house, and felt like a different man It was a big thing to get my first goal, I wanted to improve my game in this area The goal made me score all the ones since, it was a nice goal as well, I was very happy I had no doubt that we would compete in the Championship Everyone was saying to me, do you think you can stay up and go for the Premier League? I told them, “Yeah, you’ll see, you’ll see…” My French friends didn’t believe me, I told them “you will see” We were always in the top two, it was just a normal thing I knew 100% we would go up after we played Leeds United away, Kelvin was amazing but we didn’t play well At 4-0 up against Coventry, I looked up and around me and thought “wow, this is amazing” and we just kept the ball It was amazing, the dream came true and you just think about everything that had happened and think “happy days” We knew before the game, at 8am I knew I had no pressure on me. People were saying “Morgan, it’s the game of your life, what’s wrong?” but I felt no pressure, I knew we were strong. Coventry had nothing to lose, but we knew that if we played 90+ of our best we would win This summer, I enjoyed a few weeks but then I told myself it was time to do the right things I told myself “this is my year” Leading up to Manchester City, I was nervous, thinking “can we cope against them?” The day before that game is the most nervous I have been all-season Now a game in Premier League for me is just like Championship or League One, just another game Think we lost a lot of those early games because we were thinking too much about it In League One to Championship, we thought we would do well In Championship to Premier League, we thought we’d be the new Swansea – but it doesn’t work like that I never thought we would get relegated, but you just question yourself When we lost against West Ham 4-1, we were 15 or 16 points behind them and you think “oh god” and hope we are not going to be the next Derby County with low points We knew that we were better than Reading, we knew that we were better than Sunderland, how could we lose that game to them? This second part of the season, we are a lot stronger Before, we won some games, but we missed things But now, even Wigan and United away – we showed how far we had come Even last week from Swansea, they had 15 minutes at the start and 25 at the end and we would have lost that game before It shows how far we have come, we did not have any experience Now we all know what we need to do in certain circumstances I am happy because I think I improve every single game But I know I have two or three steps to progress That will come with matches, I am only 23 years old and I just don’t want to stop This year, ok I had a good season, but next year I want to be even better For me, next year is the real time to prove myself to everyone Everything Nicola promised to me happened, and if everything that he said to me when I signed my new contract happens, it will be even better Big things are going to happen to Southampton in the next three years Next year will be a big season for us We will sign other quality players, to add to the squad I am sure there are plenty of good things coming for Southampton I hope we can finish top ten this season, that was our aim Then next season, the next step. Finish Top 6. I am sure people will say “no chance, no top six” and laugh at me We have shown that even against the big teams we can do it Now we need to do it against all the other teams, teams that are under us We will next year I like this city, I know every place I say to those people, keep laughing, we will see who is laughing in the end
Saint Garrett Posted 26 April, 2013 Share Posted 26 April, 2013 Thanks for that. He's such a top player and comes across as a very genuine nice bloke - like the majority of our players to be honest. I think our transfer committee look at this when they are looking for potential transfers, probably why some transfers have fallen through late. It's great to see how much trust he has in the chairman as well. Big things happening at our club, and its great to see. Morgan for France. Deschamps is at the Emirates on Sunday, don't know why, perhaps he thinks that there must be someone in Man U or Arsenal reserves that he can pick. Other than that it's just Evra and Sagna and he knows all about them.
Saint Garrett Posted 26 April, 2013 Share Posted 26 April, 2013 I absolutely love Morgan, can't speak highly enough of him as a player. Top man. Said it loads of times, but genuinely don't think he'd look out of place in any team in the world.

Saint Garrett Posted 26 April, 2013 Share Posted 26 April, 2013 (edited) & What a goal it was: Crazy isn't it. In that game, Puncheon, Lallana, Fonte, Morgan, Lambert and Davis all played, who have all played their part in our season this year. Listen mate, if a massive club came in for Shaw this summer, he'll be gone despite what Morgan is saying in his Pro Saints propoganda video. Stop living in your pie in the sky fanatasy land, pal. saints_is_the_south Posted 26 April, 2013 Share Posted 26 April, 2013 Just watched the 20 min interview on The Southampton Way App. Brilliant. Seems a very cultured individual, a fantastic footballer but still with the hunger to improve even more. Very excited about his and our future. Badger Posted 26 April, 2013 Share Posted 26 April, 2013 Morgan should be team captain in my view, right age, experience and in a position on the field to influence the play and those around him.
Saint_clark Posted 26 April, 2013 Share Posted 26 April, 2013 Morgan should be team captain in my view, right age, experience and in a position on the field to influence the play and those around him. Should always be Lambert for me. Lallana gave an interview recently where he said he still looks up to him and Davis...and he just never sounds very authoritative when you hear him speak. In a few years, sure, but right now Lallana isn't ready to be captain.

Couldn't agree more - I said this at the start of the season too. Adam has been a shadow of his former self since being made skipper.
ant Posted 3 May, 2013 Share Posted 3 May, 2013 It's very easy to forget that he's only 23 years old. Tremendous attitude and his performances this season has spoken for themselves. If you believe in sports statistics he's one of the top 3 or 4 central midfielders in the division.
