All going well for the Sweaty Socialists then. Looks like the Tories played a good card with the swing voters In England, warning about a threat from the other side of the wall.

Woolfe, Nuttall etc would have much more populist appeal than Farage, continue to take votes from 'traditional' Labour sources.

I'm a big fan of Nigel , and he did wonderful things for the party , but maybe he's resiginagtion could be a blessing . Suzanne Evans is impressive and it'll be great to have a chick leading the party whilst labour stick to their middle class white men . Paul N is a decent bloke and a northerner , but I'm not quite sure he's up to it. Personally I like oflynn , but he's a middle class whitey as is the impressive Carswell . When the political compass was posted on here , I was a bit lonesome on my own to the right , looks like he great English electorate are coming in my direction .

UKIP could really go one of two ways after these results, loads of votes and positives, but difficult to keep it channeled effectively and the momentum going year on year.

I've missed a lot of this thread, but I think some were talking up Russel Brand's influence previously, which tells you all you need to know.

It seems most lefties feel like that. The further north you go, the more he's hated it seems

Three times in one debate on TV she kept mentioning how the election was about "keeping the Tories out of No. 10" - which, I thought, was a weird and quite negative angle to take. And she was vitriolic and scathing towards DC as if he'd sh1t in her bed. Of course, I do understand the further north you go, the more disliked the Conservative Party is but I have to wonder why some people seem so absolutely against them. It's like irrespective if it's good for the country or not, some people will vote the other way regardless. Then again, those people are more likely from the "what's in it for me?" camp, so...*

From BBC news:

Gerry: If we in Scotland suffer under Cameron then all I can say is that we did it to ourselves. For the SNP will just be 50 odd MPs making a noise but no effective difference to Cameron's austerity program. Well done Nicola - vote SNP and get shafted by the Tories

Nice way of looking at it. Are they REALLY getting shafted though? I can't understand all these anti-austerity calls after the mess we've been in. If you've got debts, you don't go ringing up for another loan you can't afford.

So there's a clear winner then. Sky news.

I had to turn BBC off when Andrew Neil was on. Although they're making a bit of a comeback under their new leader.

Neil is far and away the best political interviewer. I dislike the BBC , but I'm enjoying their discomfort . particularly that pinko Marr.

Exactly. I just don't get it. Sure, I understand that there are historic incidences which would always cost the Tories votes but pretty much every Labour voter I've spoken to (four yesterday!) said they were voting Labour because "they always have". What, the, actual, f***!?!?

Thankfully, that opinion was far outweighed by the more politically engaged Tory voters I met, who seemed to back up their chosen vote with reasoning, not just prejudice.

I prefer to hear the opinions of the person being interviewed rather than the interviewer.

Some right sorts in the political circles. That's another thing I've learned tonight/this morning.

Oh, and I'm still weighing up whether I find Kay Burley strangely attractive... or not.

I would say you don't. Just very tired at the mo lol
