Yes, yes. But there's not even a realistic 'IF' here is there.

If you even consider it a remote possibility that Trump has the ability to broker a deal with Putin that is acceptable to Ukraine then you're utterly deluded.

Sounds like he is TACO man again this evening. He seems to be backing away from supplying the Tomahawks. Putin seems to be able to do the Jedi mind trick on Trump time and time again.

It’s probably more to do with Donny’s ego believing its own hype after negotiating a ceasefire in Gaza. Never mind the fact that the USA’s gigantic economy and military made it something akin to Andre the Giant breaking up a fight on a primary school playground, Trump will now believe he’s some sort of expert negotiator. Obviously growing a pair of balls and fully supporting Ukraine would go against this delusion, so he’ll just sit their like an overripe satsuma telling both sides they need to be realistic whilst doing f**k all of any substance.

I am currently in the USA. We tend to come over every year about this time. (convenient with the international break). Since we were here last year GBP has strengthened by over 6% yet I am astounded by how expensive things now cost here.

Fuel, groceries and eating out are all more expensive than they were this time last year. No idea if this is due to tariffs, world events or internal factors. I am unsure of the official rate of inflation but the Donald's claims that US inflation is now dead is complete bs.

Hope you're enjoying it other than the increase in costs.

Have you spoken to locals on their thoughts on what's going on?

Be careful, it's apparently a WAR ZONE.

Perhaps not today as there will be the No Kings protest. 😁😁😁😁

""It won't interfere with the current building. It won't be. It'll be near it but not touching it - and pays total respect to the existing building, which I'm the biggest fan of," Trump said in July. "It's my favourite. It's my favourite place. I love it.""

And then.......

"Parts of the White House's East Wing have been demolished, as construction begins on US President Donald Trump's new ballroom.

Construction crews on Monday tore down massive chunks of a covered entryway and windows in the East Wing, which Trump said is being "fully modernised"."

Funded by businesses like Amazon apparently. So nothing dodgy going on there then. Strange that nutty nic finds it funny, but then he does have a warped sense of humour.

Spent the last 2 days today in the "warzone" of Portland. Nothing unusual going on here. Has the feel of a European rather than American city. Some posh bits. Some scruffy. Lots of pride flags. Excellent beer (70 breweries 😋).

People here seem quite laid back. If Trumpy boy thinks it needs the troops to keep order he is even more deluded than I previously thought.

Interesting that you say that. I had work colleagues over from the US and they said Portland is a quiet lovely city. So its bonkers calling out the national gaurd.

When I mentioned this to a friend separately his instant retort was that the place was ruined during the BLM protests. Implying it hadn't recovered and still at risk......

The orange man baby has thrown a tantrum and shut down all trade talks with Canada because the Premier of Ontario made an advert quoting Ronald Reagan's comments that tariffs can never work.

Last month Adelita Grijalva, a Democrat, was elected to Congress from Arizona, taking the seat vacated by the death of her father. Since then, Speaker Mike Johnson has refused to swear her into office, claiming he won't do so until the Democrats agree to pass the stalled Finance Bill, the cause of the Government shutdown.

Alternatively, he won't sign her in as there needs to be 218 signatories to a Discharge Petition that would force a vote to release the Epstein files, overriding Johnson's and Trump's attempts to block it. Currently there are 217 signatures, Grijalva would become the 218th.

Trump has made it abundantly clear that he wants to find a way to serve a third term. One way to defer the next election is for the US to be involved in a war…

Meanwhile one of his buddies, Steve Witkoff, has just given an interview in which he said that they had been working on plans to rebuild Gaza for two years. Two years! How did they know the extent of the destruction in Gaza when the IDF had barely started their offensive?

Donnie boasted to the press on Air Force One that he had 'aced' his second annual health check since January, and had got a top score in an IQ test, suggesting that "low IQ" Democratrs Alexandria Ocasio-Cortes and Jasmine Crockett should take the test for comparison, as they might be able to get to question 5 but wouldn't be able to answer the later, harder, questions..

The test wasn't an IQ test, it was a cognitive function test used to detect signs of dementia.

The question is, can they impose the limit on the number of refugees because they aren't in the ECHR?

The ECHR in itself does not prevent any signatory imposing immigration or refugee limits. It does not grant an automatic right of entry to a country of which an individual is not a national.

What it does do is keep Human Rights lawyers in business.

So we could impose our own refugee limit, say 2,000?

According to the AI response to my Google search, yes.  Then again, SKYNET may have it's own ulterior motives for undermining Governments around the globe.

Fucking idiot is taken in by some Russian nonsense about a nuclear-powered cruise missile and now wants to restart utterly pointless, but tension-creating, nuclear tests.

This after his idiot Israeli friends prompted the Saudis to call in their ear-marked nukes from Pakistan by bombing Qatar.

Is there a Nobel Peace Prize for nuclear proliferation?

Even white South Africans don't think they are being persecuted.

Are you sure about that? Are you getting your info from MSM and made up articles perhaps? I can tell you that is very likely as I have 7 people I have met from SA in the last year all white and all left in fear of their lives. Of course you will deny that being true and say I am lying but once again we have a man on the ground and a man watching BS TV. Bugger. I just wasted a post trying to educate a fool again.

Well, we know you didn't meet them in Thailand, that's for sure.

What I find very odd is you met 7 SA's in a year, and each one you got onto them leaving for fear of their lives. I don't even know how you got to that point in conversation, considering you live in Thailand and they would most likely be there on holiday. Do you ask all holiday goers whether they were being persecuted in their own countries? Is that your schtick?

Perhaps they were racists or nonces escaping to somewhere where they're safer and more accepted.

Replace all them Turkish barbers with SA Biltong shops. Superb.

That'll boost the high street, and get some good quality protein into the masses. You've saved the nation.
