Financially the problem for women's football (and an understand than silly Semmens completely misses) is that girls in the large are just not going to obsessively follow in the same way men and boys do, with all the commercial value that comes with that.  There will be some girls who do, of course, and come international time, there will be decent crowds and interest, but it will be a minority following in the same way sports like rugby are where the main commercial interest is in the international team and the club game is far smaller, but women's club football will have even smaller crowds than rugby.  It just needs to cut its cloth accordingly and be appropriately sized for the money it generates.

But its supporters don’t want that. They want to piggy back on the blokes game, whilst pretending it’s empowering birds. It’s actually the complete opposite.

“Birds” 😂

Yeah... Why go with "birds" when "mares" or "broads" will suffice...?

Genuine question.

Does anyone actually care?

I'd genuinely like to see them do well, any success for the club / city always welcome

Have taken my kids a few times,  good for young football mad girls to see them.

Enjoyed thrashing Pompey last season, good crowds in for that but otherwise attendances are low

Think they'll struggle to get promoted any higher without investment so mid table 2nd tier probably best they can aim for

You don't need to if you don't want to

My Wife likes going and I am happy to go with her, likewise I'm happy to have a Saturday or Sunday to myself when she goes off to watch with our daughter.
