Farage is still getting his head round the focal point of Muslim culture that the man attacked. The pizzeria. Soon, he will be linking it up with WWII attacks that locals made on ice cream parlours, due to the proprietor's Italian connections. "Bloomin' Muslim Catholics. We didn't want them or their amazing cuisine in the 1930s and we don't want their fascinating cultures going into the 2030s!"

Statistically that’s currently true but the balance is shifting, 25% and rising is a much larger % from the white far right than we’ve had for a decades and it’s a growing danger https://www.mi5.gov.uk/director-general-ken-mccallum-gives-latest-threat-update

It's basically an inevitable retaliation to what we've been witnessing over the last 20 years or so. But overall, Islam is and will likely continue to be a far more dangerous threat.

The training certainly needs looking at but that's not on individuals who made honest mistakes. 4

None of us would want to have been in their shoes, and if we're honest, none of us could be certain we'd have handled it any better. Very sad. 1
Gloucester Saint Posted Wednesday at 16:12 Posted Wednesday at 16:12 On a lighter note, a tasty little morsel for Soggy to enjoy (and everyone else)

Turkish Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Linton on Ouse a small village of about 800 people about 45 minutes from me, they are proposing to house 1500 male asylum seekers. Be honest, would anyone want this happening on their doorstep?

The plan to house asylum seekers was first mooted in 2022, then scrapped. They will be housed on the now defunct RAF base. But it probably won't go ahead as the woke brigade claim the poor little darlings become scarred for life if housed on a secure military base and not in a luxury hotel!

We ain't closing the channel, and the asylum system as it stands, drags out processing claims. Small groups in HMO's in residential areas = complaints, bigger groups in Hotels mostly away from residential areas = complaints, even bigger groups in detention centres away from major towns = complaints. The latter is the least worst option for me. 1

People complained about hotels and asked for detention centres to be used. That'll happen, only to become the next complaint. I get that some people don't want brown people arriving, but they do and will, and have to be housed somewhere. Or be left to camp in the fields/be left to build shanty towns. It's a lesser of evils scenario.

It was obviously a facetious comment I do find it highly amusing how on the one hand accusations of racism are made about brown people arriving yet on the other hand no one wants them to arrive near them. It’s fine let them come as long as I don’t have to see them 😂😂😂

I’m not paid to come up with solutions unfortunately and coming up with any ideas is pointless anyway as it’ll just be shot down as not practical, racist, won’t work or all of the above Some have won the postcode lottery, for now at least.

Where asylum seekers are accommodated needs discussion. You're complaining about a detention centre, but won't say what's preferred. Where do they get accommodated whilst here pending being processed? 1

Completely toothless to do anything meaningful to enact change to slow it down drastically.
aintforever Posted 9 minutes ago Posted 9 minutes ago 30 minutes ago, Turkish said: Ideal place as long as it’s not near where you live right? I don’t live anywhere near an old military barracks so yes. Obviously no one wants an immigration detention centre in their back yard, just like no one wants new housing developments on their local area yet they still demand the government build more social housing. 1
