It's the final chance to save our country, a battle of good against evil, the people making a last stand against the establishment, plucky Nige, sword and shield in his hand, the man on the street, standing up for us against the woke leftie/righty elite, in a battle that can only be decided by one set of individuals, yes, the people of Clacton will crown the victor...

Though his feeble stunt has already backfired and become Nige having a pointless debate with a bloke wearing a bin on his head.

Count v Cunt - coming to a seaside shithole soon.

He could learn from Jonathan Aitkin - "If it falls to me to start a fight to cut out the cancer of bent and twisted journalism in our country with the simple sword of truth and the trusty shield of British fair play, so be it. I am ready for the fight."

Heartening to read about people such as Farage and Aitken standing up for the values of truth, fairness and decency we all hold so dear. They are inspirations.

Whilst I can’t stand Polanski, Hannah Chambers has her head screwed on and gets it spot on. Farage is as establishment as any of the other parties and certainly a grifter. Makes Boris look like a grafter by comparison. And has security concerns of her own.

To be fair to Aitken he did seem to become a reformed character

The Reform London mayoral candidate Layla Cunningham is tying herself up in knots and being torn to pieces by KGM on the Channel 4 news. I'm almost embarrassed for her.

Good to hear. It's always a worry when people come out of prison that they'd found organised religion but failed to find any of their hidden assets to pay off legal costs. 🙂

What a pair of sleazy bastards Farage and Tice are. Luckily Andrew Bailey could see ‘lobbying’ on behalf of crypto billionaires such as Harborne who Farage has in his pocket a mile away.

They have him in their digital wallet, if not pocket. 🙂

Nothing to say on labours donations from questionable sources though?

Firstly, I don’t vote Labour. Secondly, whilst Starmer would have been well-advised to leave alone freebie tickets and nice suits/ties/sunglasses along having promised to be different (he didn’t come into power with great popularity anyway and that dragged it down further straight away) we are taking about what £20k tops? Still don’t like it but it’s not even in the same league structure or sphere of sleaze and corruption as Farage.

There’s a chasm of difference to that and receiving a £5m bung from a crypto billionaire for purposes unclear judging by the pou pourri of answers at interviews over the last month, when there’s clearly been a subsequent attempt to lobby the BoE on cryptocurrency without any real assessment of the economic risks (fortunately Andrew Bailey has his head screwed on).

As for the Green MP, she’s a plumber just like Reform’s candidate in Makersfield with her own business, just minus the racism and homophobia. Statistically she’s absolutely correct with facts you can’t argue with without looking like a fruitcake - Farage’s attendance record in Parliament and in his constituency is fucking woeful. Just two of an iceberg of data - his voting participation rate is a pathetic 33.5%, 69 out of 206 votes over the last two years. That puts him in the bottom 8% of all MPs.

Farage has spoken just 45 times in Parliament. Compare this to 92 for Badenoch, 111 for Davey and 152 for the Greens.

It gets worse, he’s mentioned Clacton TWICE in the last year https://www.desmog.com/2026/07/07/nigel-farage-has-mentioned-clacton-only-twice-in-commons-during-past-year/

He’s not engaged at all on the Clacton Regeneration Board. This would normally have the local MP on it even if they’re a leader, or a delegate. But nothing. I sat on the board where we lived before on top of a full-time job managing 25 staff and generating millions of pounds of income and wasn’t paid a penny.

He’s spent more time in America than Clacton kissing Vance’s arse because Trump can’t be bothered with him.

PS - any responses on your hero’s Dunblane comments?

I honestly don't know how anyone could have believed he would be any different once elected. His record as an MEP was even worse.

For years and years he bleated on about how British fishermen were being let down by the EU. Yet when he got himself onto the Fisheries Committee, where he could have actually had some influence to try and improve things for the very people he was pretending to give a shit about, he only bothered to turn up to one out of something like 48 meetings.

He's nothing but a fraud and a grifter. It's been obvious from the moment he caught the attention of the public with his attention-seeking "Who are you?" monologue in Brussels. He's a shameless charlatan with the moral integrity of a whole nest of vipers. Quite how anyone could be so fucking stupid as to be taken in by such a blatant self-serving bullshitter is beyond my comprehension.

Police now investigating donations to Reform by the money launderer’s mother used for social media activities (to flood Facebook and X with racist adverts and misinformation) and security (er, what was the £5m for again?)

Once he loses his seat after the second by-election, the Chair role of Portsmouth FC awaits.

There is a demographic they prey on, and there are quite a few examples on this site. I think the phrase is "not as bright as they think they are".

Dale Vince

FGR are regarded as a bit of circus locally (I’m probably influenced by the Cheltenham fans I know) but I’d much rather vote with a Dale Vince-backed candidate than an Aaron Banks-supported one. Clear where Vince’s money comes from, less so Banks https://www.opendemocracy.net/en/we-need-to-talk-about-arron/

There are some sources of funding more likely than others though https://www.facebook.com/Channel4News/posts/millionaire-brexit-backer-arron-banks-eagerly-pursued-a-multibillion-pound-gold-/10156573947426939/

There's a target market for sure. So many people are sold on them, and they seem to take a "let's just give them a go" attitude. By all means do that with a takeaway or something, but not a government.

As for seeing Farage (or Lowe) as the saviour of the average man. The mind boggles.

Irrespective of political differences, she was very kind and helpful with fundraising work for hospice care when I lived in Devon.

Police opened a murder investigation 😳

Forensic evidence will be crucial as whilst the police are hoping for Ring/doorbell footage, there isn’t much in the way of housing up there and bar the road winding its way through from Newton Abbott to Widecombe on the Moor (stunning scenery) other than the National Parks shop and car park, it’s pretty remote when you get out into the moorland and former quarry up there.

Well, if you're going to spend your younger days making nazi-like comments/gestures, then people are more likely to treat you that way, Nigel.

True though - if they were looking for a brown man they'd have been frothing. As it's a white man, conspicuous by their absence.

Suspect arrested in relation to the death of Anne Widdecombe.

26 years old bloke living in Newton Abbot, the nearest town or significant conurbation. Not thought to be political or terror motive. You’re around 1500ft above sea level so he probably had a car/motorbike to get up there.

Not clear whether he knew her or not yet.

It'll come out in time, but it feels a very odd killing. I'd be surprised if there wasn't political motivation. Poor old girl.

Police will be all over his social media and devices. Around there it is an especially elderly and affluent population in places so I wouldn’t rule out an economic motive either.

Not that it would ever justify it - horrendous. Or could be an MH case with the level of seeming violence.

I was one of them a few years ago. But to get up there from where the suspect’s from and been arrested, from Bovey Tracey and Parke the NT property, once you go past Parke and fork left towards Haytor, that road has high hedges, is narrow to begin with and nowhere to walk. A very fit person could cycle it and he’s only 26 they guy they’ve arrested, but it would be hard going and you couldn’t carry anything.

The house is not too far from the car park at Haytor or they’ve parked on a country road near the property and you could be secluded doing so.

We’ve walked all around there having lived in that area for more than a decade. Such a beautiful place for such a horrible act.
