I guess he's too green ATM but we could have done with him in the middle of the 3 CBs yesterday.  Wrexham had great success with balls behind the defence for their attack to run onto, and If Quarshie had been in the middle he could have chased those down much more effectively than Edwards/Stephens were capable of doing.  Probably would have prevented that stupid push Edwards made for their penalty

He reminds me a bit of Upmecano. Big, strong, quick and powerful, can look a world beater but also looks a little awkward at times. Looks like an athlete that’s become a footballer if you know what I mean

It was clear yesterday that we played a high line with an expectation that if a ball went over the top Quashie would have the pace to get us out of jail. The issue became that Wrexham, as others will, targeted the opposite side of the pitch where the space was, mainly due to a right back who didn't track back.  

His speed and power is clear, his distribution was average but may improve with time and he made me very nervous at times. Reminded me of Jon Gittens after we had all enjoyed Ken Monkou.

Perhaps a good analogy and comparison. We want a new Ken Monkou, but perhaps we’ve got a Jon Gittens.

Early days, some good and some concerning traits. Seems to have some good qualities for a CB, height strength, and pace. Concentration and use of the ball not so convincing on Day One. BUT definitely some raw materials for Still and Trollope to work on.

Richard Hall left in 1996

He's a bit of a donkey, but he's our donkey. 

A lot to like: quick, physical, agile, strong in the air - and unlike the other German CB on the books, he seems like a real competitor who is up for the fight, geeing up the crowd, big fist bumps when his teammates do something good. The raw materials are there.

On the flipside, his touch is an absolute white knuckle ride (although I suspect it might actually be better than it appears on first viewing - it's just his ungainly gait that makes it all look awkward). 

And his positional sense is not unlike a SatNav I bought at a car boot sale in the 90s. 

He's got cult hero written all over him. Some days great, some days a disaster.

Random facts, of little interest to anyone.... 

 

I saw Sturm Graz play WSG Tirol at the Tivoli Stadion in Innsbruck, at the beginning of the month. 

It was 1-1, and both teams were awful. But Graz should be beating Tirol all day long. 

MOTM was Tirol CB Marco Boras, who put in a good shift. 

Emran Soglo played on the left for Graz, and got an assist for their goal, he was probably their best player. He's English but I don't think he's played here professionally. 

Tirol equalised through Michael Olakigbe, who is on loan from Brentford. He's played in various England youth teams.

Quarshie should do well in the Austrian Bundesliga.

Sometimes I think people on here are stupid on purpose. 

Every club has signings that don't work, with this one we took a gamble that as yet hasn't worked but he is still quite young and playing regularly may help him. 

Either way with where we are it's a gamble we have to take as we cannot afford the finished article all the time.

SR’s success rate in terms of all signings during their ensure has been largely woeful.

I could, I think most clubs are happy is half of their signings come good, but only have three posts a day so can't be bothered.
