Just read that Boro are contacting other teams searching for evidence that we’ve been doing it to them as well.

Getting a bit desperate aren’t they 😂

There are already knuckledraggers on their forum suggesting fights.

Nobody needs that

You’d want a fight if you lived in Middlesbrough rather than sunny Cornwall, there’s nothing else to do there.

Chris Rea wrote Road to Hell for a reason.

Surprised Salt hasn’t got a lung disorder from all the crap Billingham spews out.

All those involved in this disgusting spy operation need to be sacked whoever they maybe.

All read that would see two people sacked, but did the likes of Tonda know about it ?

So you want Tonda sacked, too - right?

So he doesnt work for Southampton anymore ? Is that right ?

If Will Salt is the alleged 'spy' in question, then correct, he finished his assignment with Saints a while ago, according to that University of Derby write up...

Well lets be brutally honest here, there would be absolutely no point carrying out this covert operation and NOT passing the information onto the manager and his coaching staff !

Which will presumably be part of the charge Saints will have to answer to because the passing on of the information gathered must count as a large chunk of the case for the prosecution. For Boro's sake they need to have made sure they have all their ducks in a row.

I think we should be pretty scared about the notorious Middlesbrough firm.

That has been deleted but in any case the profile is written and maintained by the principal.

Read the University of Derby article... Linkedin profiles are often out of date... I know mine is....

ICI? They could throw some nasty chemicals at our fans I suppose.

Everyone will need chest x-rays with the proximity to Billingham

Why have we accepted the charge if this analyst fella was acting alone and/or without club knowledge? Doesn't add up...

I don't think we have accepted it. We have acknowledged it which is not the same.

From memory they had a notorious crew back in the day  - not that it matters today.

What possible reason would he have to do it off his own back if he didn't think he was going to offer the information to someone at sfc to use to gain an advantage? I don't think Villa would have much interest in the info.

Hopefully because someone in the EFL said to accept it but say that it wasn’t a direct instruction from from the club for the geezer to be there, and we just get a slap on the wrists.

As of 18 months after I took voluntary redundancy my Linkdin profile still said I worked for my last employer.

Now we're getting somewhere. The guy should be promptly sacked and all charges dropped against us. How can the football club possibly be held accountable for actions taken by an individual who is acting without their written or verbal instructions. If we are able to prove this is the case we should be in the clear and it's the best possible outcome.

Fucking hell lads, man up. Logged on to read a bit of build up to an important football match only to be bombarded with spy shite.
I hope it is hostile. Flynn Downes will love that. Larin too. Binoculars goal celebration mandatory. Coyr

Are they really that desperate for a rivalry up there? Forever in Newcastle and Sunderland's shadows, they're fairly nondescript really.

It's a bit like Bournemouth trying to stoke up a South Coast rivalry with us, 3's a crowd and all that.

Leo will give plenty if he scores as well.

Neither Sunderland or Newcastle care about the Smoggies. Nor do Leeds despite Boro trying to manufacture a rivalry.

Shit town, shit club. £40m in levelling up money pissed up the wall as well https://www.gov.uk/government/news/40-million-to-accelerate-teesside-regeneration

Pointless putting lipstick on a pig.

There are lots of nerds in this world and many come up with weird and wonderful ways to further their own ambitions. It's not beyond logic to believe this was the case.

That's my take on it.  We would normally have 14 days to respond. I cannot see how that can be reduced without our agreement, tacit or otherwise.

I accidentally made a good point above. So good, I'm going to repeat it in a post of its own.

if your training is visible from a hotel (or golf course) you have deliberately built by your training ground, you can't have a legitimate expectation of privacy.

Yet the rules explicitly state you aren't allowed to send anyone to watch another team's training in the 72 hours leading up to a game. If you are dumb enough to do it and do it in such a way you get caught you've only got yourself to blame.

Not sure victim blaming is the way forward here if what has been alleged is correct. That's the moral equivalent of saying "of course I hit her, she was asking for it".

The rules apply to club employees only. Anyone else is free to observe their proceedings if they're visible from a public space. I believe this golf course is "open to the public" whatever that implies.

In the 1960s we used to live in North Enfield and my dad would often go to Cheshunt to watch Spurs training sessions. They were open then.

Behave, I doubt he went up there on his own for a laugh

If it is our argument that no one sent him and he acted alone then I suppose it will be if there is any evidence to contradict that. If not then I can't see how we can get blamed at all.

What if we didn't send him though? Does that make us dumb? Latest word is that the club claim the individual concerned was acting alone without their knowledge.

Exactly. It's what we thought.

If folk, especially the Middlesbrough fans, take a step back for a second, they must question what we would really gain from spying on them in a sanctioned move at this stage of the season. There are no surprises now, All it has achieved is taint us as cheats and fired their team up to prove a point. It's put us on the back foot before the match even kicks off

Other fans at other clubs just seem to find it funny. They are painting this picture of a random bloke leaving the scene with a fake tache on and a raincoat on

Southampton Football Club acknowledges the statement issued by the EFL in relation to alleged breaches of EFL Regulations.

We can confirm that we will be fully cooperating with the League throughout this process.

Given the ongoing nature of the matter, the club is unable to comment any further at this time.
