Anyone mentioned Carlos Corberan yet?  Been linked with him a few times if I recall.  Bit conservative with West Brom for my liking but got them over achieving to an extent and next season looks like it'll probably be a more competitive division so we'll probably need to be a bit more pragmatic.  Corberan hasn't had a great time at Valencia though.

For once, FOR ONCE, please can Sport Republic just get the biggest name who will take the job.

The club needs stability, calmness and a bit of gravitas to reassure players and others.

Basically, we need our Championship Koeman.

And get a wise old head in for the DOF side. Hodgson, Warnock etc. I'm not joking.

We can hipster-up in a couple of years.

I don't agree with an old hat like Warnock or Hodgson as DoF - I think there is happy medium between a hipster choice and those two. We need someone who is a bit more au fait with the modern game but not obsessed with 'marginal gains' and left field choices.

Biggest names out there.

Nuno Herlander Simões Espírito Santo

Vanderlei Luxemburgo

If Dragan could persuade them and in the realms of possibilty - who would you go for as manager? I think for me, I don't think it was possible before the scandal and harder now but I think I would go all out to try and sell the 'project' to Thomas Frank. I've just seen that he's working for the BBC this summer during the W/C so probably otherwise engaged. I wouldn't be against Scott Parker or Corboran either.

Hodgson looked pretty up to date when we played Brizzle.

Corberan at Valencia isn't he? Not sure we would be a good move!

Frank, yes, knows the ropes and should inspire some confidence.

Likewise Parker is not a bad option.

Thierry Henry?

Xavi (with MLT as right hand man, of course).

Jorge Sampaoli.

Roger Schmidt.

Sean Dyche.

The forum thought police are going to be after you for even contemplating the likes of Frank... Brave move sir!

Maybe this is an opportunity for Ankersen to actually do something beneficial for the club at long last... One assumes they are still on good terms?

Saints need to go for the man who has been promoted out of this league every time he has attempted it. He is a realistic choice too.

Scott Parker.

One word: gravitas

Agree, but not a quality you’ll find in many managers prepared to work at a tarnished Championship club will have.

Work down from there until we get to Paul Hart / Arrigo Sacchi

Won’t be long before some old favourites are mentioned.

Roger Schmidt above is one, but let’s not forget Lucien Favre, and going back a some years Phil Brown.

I saw Gerrard mentioned the other day. Not keen on the idea at all and in the past been quite hostile to the idea.

But it did occur to me that if he came the media would see us as ‘Gerrard’s Southampton’ , which at least gets us away from ‘cheating, playoff expelled Southampton’.

But apart from that he’d probably be mediocre and sacked by November.

Looking at SR's appointments so far.....

Nathan Jones: (November 2022 – February 2023)
Rubén Sellés: (February 2023 – June 2023; plus an interim spell in November 2022)

Russell Martin: (July 2023 – December 2024)
Simon Rusk: (Interim spells in December 2024 and April 2025)
Ivan Jurić: (December 2024 – April 2025)
Will Still: (July 2025 – November 2025)
Tonda Eckert: (Appointed November 2025)

Doesn't fill you with optimism does it.

I'd still stick with Tonda if possible, take the hits, circle the wagons and galvanise. Emotions are raw at the moment, maybe out of our hands, who knows.

If it comes to it you just know SR will go for another knock down experimental appointment. Anyone for another season of Jones\Selles\Juric\Rusk\Still? Me neither.

Yep, love him or hate him, someone of Gerrard's profile would change the narrative somewhat and take some of the heat out of 'Spygate'... But there's obviously no danger of Sport Republic doing anything logical....

It might depend on whether Eckert gets a ban or not.

That would be my season ticket in the bin.  Another one who talks the talk. But doesn’t walk the walk.

I see a few mentions of Gerrard.  If he brings Beale with him I wouldn’t be against that but think it unlikely.

Parker I’m not sure about.  Brilliant record in this division but don’t know much about his style of play.

Howe is totally unrealistic.  Even if Newcastle sack him, it’s not happening.

Not Corberan.  Another hipster who has achieved fuck all.

If all you're doing is picking big names to "change a narrative" then you may as well add Wayne Rooney into the mix.  Shit manager but he's a big name.

If we had got away with it or hadn't been thrown out of the play offs, would people still want Tonda sacked?

We’re already the leagues biggest laughing stock, let’s not make it worse.

It will be forgotten eventually. But it’s great clickbait same as commentators dropping in a comment about our 9-0 defeats, we are going to have to get used to “same old Southampton always cheating for quite a while”.

im going to put a few random thoughts, getting rid of Sports Republic is insane. I’ve been trawling Balkan press. Because of Solak it’s big news although a lot of the Serbian press are using it to attack Solak because of his fights with the Serbian President.
Fans need to get some perspective about Solak he’s not just boss of SR he’s main shareholder of Union Group a fucking huge South East European comms company. He’s a household name there some people were trying to get him to start a new political party mainly because he’s one of the few to stand up to Putin backed Vucic

I’ve watched his TV interviews he doesn’t waffle isn’t scared of being controversial. Hes got a Balkan man of honour vibe.
He didn’t take our last season in PL well , he was fuming we didn’t get promoted through playoffs last time the playoffs are a lottery. He’s a businessman.
Hes recently been in London fighting and winning a court against some Dutch company.
Owning and even better having Southampton is prestigious and a middle finger to his enemies. I can’t see him walking it would be humiliating for him. The interesting thing as he’s occasionally. Suggested he’d be interested in someone becoming a co owner.
A lot of younger fans might not know when we went into administration they were dark days we started in League One with -10 points thank the Lord along came Markus Leibherr.
We were getting huge crowds in League One and up we went again the era of Van Dyck, Mane, Koeman, Europa league.

We get rid of SR the likelihood of getting another Markus Leibherr is unlikely. One very promising sign is Katrina is back on the board she’s been very active attending a lot of games. Very proactive with Saints Foundation. She looked pretty good too lost weight leather coat Gucci shades. 🫢

We’ve got to play our part stop the finger pointing just let the processes work out No protests , booing players, yelling at board members. This is an existential football crisis , the world has changed massively. Football going to look a lot different but if we aren’t careful it could be the end of the club. Even before this kicked off it would have suited a lot of people if we had gone kaput.

Why are you blaming SR? Yes they appointed Eckert but it wasn't them who spied was it?

Because they own the club, are supposed to run it and oversee those who they appoint to senior frontline positions. Like every other football club, large to medium size company, local authority, NHS Trust etc in the country so they are accountable to shareholders, lenders, creditors, regulators, customers and the communities they operate in.

Repeatedly they have promised to take more interest, get more hands on to prevent the various calamities on their watch and time and time again they fail abysmally. Only this time, they couldn’t ever cover up cheating remotely properly when the damage could have been limited with basic oversight and club lawyers telling Parsons to shut up.

I don’t believe a word they say and past the point where I ever will.

I guess you're happy anyway, now the Zionist is leaving?
