The biggest problem is this side has no real pace or power in it at all. Unless we sign 2-3 starters in the next 10 days we will struggle to make the top 8 I think.

There feels like something going on behind the scene. It just doesn’t feel or look right, this isn’t about be patient this is about the structure of the team being off defensively and in the midfield. Not being fit, wandering about etc…

We need Matsumi off, he is not an effective midfielder

Replaced with who? The only real alternative is Bragg and he was shite last time out. Depressing.

All of the bullshit about having a team to be proud of after the Spygate saga was just that.

Would you want to play for him after potentially costing you thousands,  no didnt think so, so much club pr bullshit

Yep, Bragg didn’t like Watford tackling him last week. Without Jandat, assuming he stays, needs to be a starting quality CM coming in.

We have probably the best striker, GK and possibly AM in the League. We just need to improve a lot of the other positions. I don't doubt the club will sign players though,  I just hope that not only are they decent but they settle quickly. Spors, over to you.

Stephens was shit too but he's out there, ball watching

By March, the anniversary of watching Ibrahimovic head the winner at Wembley, he’ll be able to mark a decade of ball-watching. Marc Cucarella should send a lock of his hair to help Jack celebrate.

I'm so looking forward to the game with the stress dialed down.  Let's say... 2 unanswered goals in the first half.  No reply. In the 70th minute we get a third.  Clean sheet. That kind of game.

Exactly. A lot of players are OK but just that nothing outstanding,  if you want top 2 this season we need to raise our game and pace.

He does absolutely nothing, apart from cause confusion and do the occasional brain fart. The team has to play because of him, mindful of his shortcomings. When he doesn't play, we look stronger.

He touched the ball 43 times, more than any other player including wood.  Made 3 interceptions and 2 tackles, more than anyone other than wood, who also looked solid btw.

The stats don't tell a picture of someone ball watching when they got more touches than any other player on the pitch (including Stoke players)

I think Tonda is a busted flush to be honest, the whole spy gate issue has affected him, his team selection is odd to say the least and a lot of our so called better players really aren't playing for him. THB is off, scienza obviously wants out and fellows and azaz aren't interested, no midfield to speak of and Stephens who shouldn't be captain of a pub quiz team.... A long season ahead.

If we finish top 2 this season I'll chop off my willy, mince it and put it into a Lasagne.

Sat here at half time,  wondering where any inspiration or if we have a midfielder to take the scruff of the game & start dominating,  Flynn is working hard , Matsuki is far to lightweight,  long season ahead .

At the game today and it's a little bit like the first half against Watford. Scored a decent goal on the break but other than that it's been a bit meh.

Not sure about the tactics from the goal kicks. Feels like Saints just give the ball away.

Half time, hopefully we can start playing second half.

Lucky to be level, a lot of insipid displays there. One or two looked very disinterested. This will be an interesting test as to whether beyond the PR puff as to whether the players are really behind Tonda. The Watford game and this so far are telling.

I’m probably in the minority, but he had to go with all the play off antics.

This unfortunately is the fall out, even if we win.

Any normal business and normal common sense would say get rid and start again.

Its going to be toxic until he goes, then it’s probably to late to mount any serious challenge.

Unless by some miracle we get a proper manager.

So far the players have underestimated it I think. They expected an easy ride this season and forgot we were good because we worked very very hard toward the end of last season. At least we have Larin!

Fellows is absolutely dreadful.

Can't score, shit floaty crosses, shit passing, not good defensively.

Why does Tonda persist with him?

He really has been poor for a while. Shame, it felt like having a winger who likes to get outside and cross would have been ideal for Larin.

20% of duels won in the air and 0 successful crosses. You don’t win football matches if you don’t at least compete. Robins will be saying ‘why have we not created more chances, they have no midfield and a disorganised back line’ .

Fuck sake, Downes will be suspended by the start of September.

He’s a one man central midfield, not a lot else he can do. I’d get Bragg on for Matsuki and hope he’s got a bit more fibre than last week.

Was thinking the same. No intensity, walking pace, pass backwards. They just don’t look happy or motivated.

It's not pretty is it. We've basically been mugged off by Dragan and his crew here a bit. Midfield is so so light. And the CB pairing abysmal

The board will wait until end of September when Tonda gets a long ban to make a change and the season is gone bar a relegation battle. And the usual saps will blame the FA.

It is probably what we need to happen. As you said, we can all see it, so many similarities with last year
