Mr X Posted 5 February, 2009 Share Posted 5 February, 2009 From the daily echo: In their entire history, Saints have won just once at Vicarage Road in 19 league and cup attempts. Andrew Surman has insisted saints need to win if they are to stay up. Gulp.................. it doesn't look good
Andy_Porter Posted 5 February, 2009 Share Posted 5 February, 2009 These records have to turn round at some point. They really are our bogey team though. The game at St Marys summed it up really.

Arizona Posted 5 February, 2009 Share Posted 5 February, 2009 Think we've been completely dicked in our last 6 games against Watford 5-2 in the League Cup 3-0 (a) and 1-3 (h) in 2005/6 2-3* (a) and 0-3 (h) in 2007/8 0-3 at home this season. *They had 10 shots on goal to our 2. Mao Cap Posted 5 February, 2009 Share Posted 5 February, 2009 I'm going to this one but it's purely for the day out, we have no chance of beating Watford. EVER. God smiles on them
exit2 Posted 5 February, 2009 Share Posted 5 February, 2009 Am I right in thinking in 1978, we tonked Watford at the Dell in league cup, we then went back there for the second leg and lost i think 5-1 and then lost in extra time?

Kenilworthy Posted 5 February, 2009 Share Posted 5 February, 2009 It was 1980 and it was 7-1. I was there though in 88 when we won 1-0, I think it was Kevin Moore.

We beat them 4-0 in the first leg and lost the 2nd one 7-1. I think both John Barnes and Luther Blissett got het-tricks for them (I don't know why I remember that). Oh, and at the time we were in Div 1 and they were in Div 2.

Chorlton Posted 5 February, 2009 Share Posted 5 February, 2009 I was there too, i'm sure chicken george scored the goal? I was always getting kevin Moore & George Lawrence muddled up ;-) It was Kevin Moore that day. And it was the last time I went to Watford. And I am not going this Saturday as I had a choice out of that & bristol City.

Bailey Posted 5 February, 2009 Share Posted 5 February, 2009 That record has got to end eventually and there's no better time to turn it around than this Saturday. I'm going with a couple of mates, in hope rather than confidence. Maybe Saints will surprise us but we'll see!
S4INT Posted 5 February, 2009 Share Posted 5 February, 2009 Last time I went was the 3-2 game :/ bloody conceeding last minute goals. It's a Southampton curse! I suppose the record, as some have said, must be turned around at some point. Also Ponty withdrew a lol from deep inside me at this time of little joy to be a Saints fan - 'ts'all good :]

RMoo2 Posted 6 February, 2009 Share Posted 6 February, 2009 I went to 5 of the last 6 games against Watford so I'm not confident. I have also heard that there is a good chance that the game might be called off on police advise because of the weather.
