did he listen to you?

They are saying due to league position

I was about to say they are probably waiting to see which league we are in, but then this is Lowe we're talking about. He doesn't care if we are overcharged for League 1 footy.

Also, from the announcement on OS:

Meanwhile, the following ticket news has been released for three of Saints' forthcoming home fixtures.

Derby County on Tuesday 10th March 2009

All season ticket holders can buy additional tickets for just £5 each

Charlton Athletic on Saturday 4th April 2009

Ticket prices are being reduced to:

Adults £15

Concessions £5

Crystal Palace on Monday 13th April 2009

This game will have a "Kids for a Quid" promotion. All supporters 16 and under will pay just £1 for their tickets.

I for one say this is great news, great business, great PR, great everything imo.

If (as we surely, all do hope) the recent upturn continues, I would expect 20k plus home gates for these 3 games. So many of us, for so long have been urging the club to get bums on seats, that this surely is a test of our steel, COYR's.

The club need to make this decision after the decision as to whether or not to go into administration.

Not sure when in April they hope to know whether we have stayed up. Personally I see this going well into May.

I guess right at the end of April given that there are five matches that month and only one in May unless we get to the play-offs :). Hopefully we'll pull ourselves clear before the last game, but if not then I guess they will have to make a decision on two price structures - one for the CCC and another for L1 or some sort of rebate scheme. Perhaps they will do away with the Early Bird discount and just charge the same price for a given season ticket regardless of when you buy.

Cheap seats? Seems strange timing? One would have thought that the (thus far) improving results would pull more punters in by default?

Either we've put Admin to bed for now (and if so "how?") or Lowe and co have gone into "f**k it, let's go out with a bang" mode due to Admin being imminent.

Or it could be more innocent than that of course....

It's a bit of a "catch 22". If the club starts selling ST's now, it will generate extra cashflow and income, which could pevent us from going into administration. However, if the threat of adminstration is still there, any fan buying a ST before-hand would lose their money, if it were to happen.

strange though tht QPR isn't included. I presume they're counting on QPR bringing a couple of thousand and don't want to lose that revenue just now;

However by promoting these 3 "special offers" just now it may be a question of getting enough cash in to hold out until we can sell STs in april (or whenever).

Perhaps Wotte has asked for a couple of big crowds to get behind the lads.

Yes trousers I totally agree with you, they could have seen how the sales went over the next week, then maybe done a promotion, but then would have had to sort out refunds.

Maybe they're hoping to sell 3 tickets per customer all in one go, it certainly won't hurt to have a few extra quid in the bank right now, especially as they won't be getting any ST money in for at least another month, maybe longer.

We are nowhere near administration, the delay is just giving time to win over the fans.

If it looks like we are staying up they will be able to charge more.

How about the club want to get A) a big crowd to roar the team on

B) fans rejuvenated into the ground that then may wish to buy s/t's and so return

C) get a bumper crowd and that would say to whoever 'it has nothing to do with RL that fans are not turning up

D) the club wish to make bridges and wont to instill some interest again

And yet there are no offers for QPR, why is that then, tit for tat for their £30 minimum price perhaps.

I expect it's a bit of a,b and c. Lowe has never given a toss about the roar of the crowd before.

I expect they have realised that they are going to sell naff all season tickets at the moment because Lowe and Wilde are about as popular as Bin Laden. The plan will be delay ST sales, hand out a few crowd pleasers and hope Wotte keeps the good form going.

If we go down the club is finished regardless so it's probably a good plan to delay STs.

Could be but also we normally get a good crowd.i also think they bring quite a few and if i m right dont the clubs have to offer the away fans the same price?

Also some of the deal is aimed at the S/T holder, i noticed that RL/board have made it clear that if there are any incentives the S/T holders will get the credit or value.I think the Mna U game the s/t holders got preference to remaining tickets etc.

How many fans were worried about RL or Wilde after the PNE or Cardiff games? I didnt give them a thought and i doubt many did.The crowds wil come back in the main when the results improve. The club offering incentives is a positive IMO

Agree it's a positive move.

As it stands I'm not renewing my ST regardless of what league we are in. I don't mind watching crap football as a Saints fan I've watched crap football most of my life. It's the feeling of being taken for a mug I don't like.

I personally didnt see any.The marchers did it with the best intentions so i dont want to knock them.the anti Wotte and sitting in the highway were some very bad miscalculations and so the point got muddied.

I noticed a march was not organised and rightly so as i doubt the Cardiff fans would have been too sympathic and it could have turned out bloody.

Still it is strange. Seeing as we aren't flush with cash that we're making concessions like this. For Charlton we need to increase attendance by 4/5 K

to make up for the deficit. For Derby if the ST holders start buying tickets for everyone that asks the club will lose a whole bunch of money;Still I suppose that stops Derby fans getting cheap tickets though.

By only concern is other than the Cardiff game and Shef Utd, additional bums on seats has not led to better support or decent performances. The Tyro club I am involved with regularly sends different age groups to these games, thankfully a parent goes with side i am involved with, but have not seen a SAints victory in 2 seasons.

Lets hope that changes this time

The Club will never be finished - the PlC may finish!!! look at Aldershot and Accrington and AFC Wimbledon to see that Clubs don't finish and die!! COYR

???????? Not sure thats quite right is it? -Even this season I'm not sure you can say that the football has been crap? The results have been crap but the football - no certainly not crap? I have watched saints all my life too and can't remember us playing crap football - Through the decades we have had some of the games great players play for us so really don't get your view

No. You have to sell tickets to away fans at the same price you charge home fans for similar seats, but you are allowed to run a few special offers per season which you don't have to offer to away fans.

if, and its a big IF, we go into administration that wouldn't mean next years seasons ticket would become null and void. Liquidation would though but that would only happen if we went into administration and couldn't find someone to buy the club and take over/settle the debts.

This is probably true but does anyone know (for sure) that a new company has a legal obligation to honour tickets bought from the original one? Many I suspect, would honour them in good faith but do they actually have to?
