Takeover News(what I heard today :))

Know someone who is involved with the club, and heard today that out of the 30ish or so actual takeover thingys, 4 or 5 were serious. That we know of course...

BUT

I also learnt that one has gone far enough that the person involved has got the solicitors involved to get all the fine points of the deal ready for completion.

Have a nice day :)

A friend of my dad was playing golf with Harry Redcrap last week, and they were talking about Saints.

Apparently old saggy face said "Oh don't worry about southampton - a good friend of mine who is worth millions is about to buy them, they'll be better than alright"

Not saying this is 100% but this guy had no reason to lie.

I dont think as many people would have complained had Lowe been stinking rich and thrown bundles of cash at the team. ;)

No, I don't suppose we would have ........ but we will never know will we ....... circa 12 years in charge .......... absolute ZERO bundles of cash thrown at us .......

Wastes of Spaces don't come any bigger than "Rupert Egoman Lowe "

You can believe it or not - just saying what he said!

obviously if there's one person in the world likely to lie its probably him, but as I say - dont shoot the messenger!

Low posting alert....!!!! Pinch of salt needed.

I've been reading this forum for years, when i heard of this I joined properly just to share it for your consideration.

No skin off my nose if u choose to disregard it.

I am not stating that we are definitely about to be taken over by some billionaire, but it is quite possible that one of the 30-odd bidders is one of Redcraps possy.

I agree the whole thing seems unlikely though.

So if a van turns up carrying loads of brown paper bags we can all start getting excited!

I wasnt being serious lol. But if someone like him turned up with a hatfull of money I would be amazed if any of us would really object to that person having a crack. Right now our options are pretty much club or no club IMO. We have hoped for the last 2 years that there would be someone more than tyre kickers interested in us so i dont think our chances are that high for one of the 30 being much more.

If anyone's interested in fact and nobody seems to be. I wouldn't want to get in the way of conjecture.

2 bidders have proved funds and are into the due diligence stage.

1 further serious bidder has still to prove funds.

That's it.

So, does this mean that the Administrator is 100% satisfied with their credentials (i..e. the 'proved funds' bit) and it now 'simply' down to the consortia to satisfy themselves that the accounts are in order?

In other words, the way the process works, there is no step in the process from here on in whereby the administrator would decline their (combined?) offer, it's purely down the consortia satisfying themselves now?

You really are a tiresome prat. It's the last thing on his mind. If you want to snipe have a go at me.

I don't have a problem with you. I don't have a problem with you rattling your bucket. But i'm dead against the Saints Trust and their political manouverings to gain favour with any new regime.

Well, your the best man for the job.

Perhaps no connection at all, just had a txt from a friend banding his name about, wouldn't say where from though.

Probably more wild speculation.

He's a leading football investment expert. He might be advising one of the bidding groups??

I think that if say both want to bid, they negotiate with the administrators who then designate a preferred bidder and then they move towards exchanging contracts and paying over the money.

Cheers Derry. But, just to clarify...the advance stage that they have reached thus far means that the Administrator is 'happy' with their financial credentials?

I'll try not to wake you up. Thanks for that. I see no evidence of your concerns, that's not to say there aren't any.

I would say that over five hours of chats over four days nick came over as energetic, interesting, loves the saints, and wants the best for the club and the trust. We had no problem concluding an arrangement. I personally would support what I've seen and respected people on here have confirmed that support. I look forward to seeing a revamping/relaunch of the trust and then use it as a focal point for all fans. Then the members can have whoever they want as the officers.

The administrator will have looked at the bidders financial credentials before they go into due dilligence as stated by MF in statements before. The bidder or bidders will now be going through the accounts with a fine tooth comb so that they dont find out anything silly before they sign up, so basically if they dont find anything abnormal with the accounts that they cant sort then one of them will take us over. Pretty simple really but it just takes a bit of time.

Cheers, thanks. Just wanted to double check that any remaining stumbling blocks were in the bidder's court rather than in the administrator's court.
