Of course it says that, they HAVE to say that! -

Indeed, but hey ho, I'll be there regardless! -
I hear you, but then they've probably spent 40/50 years going along and moaning. Some people just like a f**king good moan. I bet they still found something to moan about after we spanked Sunderland 8-0 ... "too much sideways passing" or "we'd have scored 10 if we'd signed xyz"

Exactly this! Trouble is, it's easy to be negative and the sky/football manager generation want to either reboot the game to win or just expect to be Man Utd. Unfortunately the Dave Jones era started 19 years ago and we haven't played at the Dell for 16 years, so that's a huge generation gap that doesn't appreciate the 'position' of Saints in the football pyramid. Christ, it's now over 11 years ago we were relegated FFS.

Naive to think otherwise to be honest!

I'm sure having Woodward around was seen as 'triffic by Rupert though

Although the first time round was "too soon" for football.

Surely they'll be gone by the end of the week? You'd think so with the amount of people 'worried' about not getting a ticket anyway ... ? -
Well done Saints - we are a fan friendly club.

This is great - I know that campaign is fairly recent and I'm delighted the club have listened and taken action. -
I think 'losing interest in top flight football' might be more appropriate? That's exactly how I feel. I can't be bothered with MoTD, I don't want Sky, I'm not bothered about watching any matches live on TV other than Saints. I love Southampton, it's my place of birth, my home town team and I am drawn towards them no matter what. I love meeting mates for beers and a catch up before or after a match, I love it when we win and I get annoyed when we lose. But football on the whole can do one. I've already said it this season; Jose this, Pep that, Conte Conte Conte, Klopp Klopp Klopp, Pogba, wow, Pogba, ooooo Pogba, Zlatan, Zlatan Zlatan, £1bn spent, isn't football great. No, it's tedious, dull and followed by complete helmets who lap up everything Sky Sports tell them. I read one quote on some forum by an overseas 'supporter' of Liverpool who said "I love Klopp, I will support wherever he goes". Then you have Toure's agent who said "if Manchester City don't play Toure, all their fans will support United". Seriously? Do one, f**k off. I hope there is a super league and they take all their tediousness with them, I want to watch Saints play decent football, with players who CARE and WANT to be here. I want an occasional FA Cup run to the final and to enjoy more wins than losses. And currently yes, a trip to Europe is good fun - for us fans. I loved the Saints team of the L1 and Championship season and the first season back in the Premier League, but since then, bar Jose and Kelvin, who else is there to like as a player? They're all after the same thing, money and a move to a 'big club' who'll pay them that. Sod off. Give me Saints in an English league with all the 'big clubs' playing some world league sh*t.

Thought it was a very good performance personally. Bit of sh*t refereeing, but we missed some decent chances, as did they. This team will be okay this season and Boufal should add a very nice extra dimension if he's all he's made out to be. Wenger's teams are no mugs - they won't win the title I wouldn't think, but they'll be up there again.
-
Hilarious, you utter helmet.
-
Ridiculous idea. Football already is a complete waste of natural resources by encouraging fans to fly and drive all over Europe to follow their teams, this will just create even more pollution and waste more resources. I also have beef with the semi finals being played at Wembley, especially between two northern teams - why can't they use Old Trafford, Anfield, Man City's ground etc., rather than making 80,000 people waste energy to travel to London?
-
Good grief! Who sanctioned this partnership?

Europa League 2016/2017 (Died 8/12/2016)

Exactly this! The guy I sit opposite at work is from Milan and an AC Milan fan, he said the ground will be dead at the sides, but there is no such thing as a neutral section, although he did that the 'Tessera del Tifoso' is something that only applies between Italian teams playing each other? God it's unnecessarily complex ... -

'Saints have been given more than the UEFA stipulated minimum five per cent of capacity at the San Siro and requested an even bigger allocation, but Italian police blocked any further allowance.' I don't buy this - why would the Italian Police be more happy with ticketless fans in Milan rather than in the ground where they can control everyone? -
What? Apart from the original post which has a link to the news article on the official site? http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/2016-17/20160826-stuart-taylor-southampton-announcement-3273822.aspx

'Southampton in Europa' - by The Red Stripez
Patrick Bateman replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
It amused me, but it really does need the video to go with it though. Also being a Hythe & Waterside lad, it probably floated my boat (excuse the pun) more than it should
