Claude Puel's 1st day training tomorrow
Patrick Bateman replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
When did people on the internet become such whinging lemons? It's a few words, get over it. -
Exactly this. This is his biggest downfall as manager, he works them hard, they work hard for him, if any team could sustain it they'd walk a league. Spurs should have been dead and buried by the end of the season, just like we should have carried on momentum and got a European place under him. I don't necessarily buy the "no plan b" stuff, it's about not destroying the players so they can't do a full season. Let alone then expect 5 or 6 members of said knackered team to play for England.

Actually I just looked at that, Lyon's record; Ligue 1 Winners (7): 2001–02, 2002–03, 2003–04, 2004–05, 2005–06, 2006–07, 2007–08 Then Puel had them, 3rd, 2nd, 3rd. Weird - did they sell loads of players or did the other teams suddenly up their game leaving the league looking less like Celtic walking the Scottish Prem? Genuine questions as I, like most people, have no f**king clue about the French league, French club status (apart from PSG and they weren't winning the league despite their money????) or Puel. This isn't 'picking on Puel', it's just trying to learn more about semi-relevant history.

3-2-1 ... Ted Rodgers. Rodgers. Brendan. Obviously -
For your on-boarding process, you need; 1. Address history for the previous 20 years 2. Employment history since you were born 3. Your father's employment history 4. References from people who have worked with you in the last 20 years, but not anyone who is considered a friend 5. Your complete health records 6. Any history of operations 7. Security clearance and a CRB check, with complete criminal history 8. Identification of any relations that may or may not be Russian or have visited Russia. Failing delivery of those 8 items; 1. A chat with Wenger will suffice, by email.

Yes! It's annoying when players leave, but there is f**k all loyalty now and unless we suddenly become Man Utd overnight (do we even WANT that??) then we'll always be a stepping stone to finding new players to blood in a very difficult league and then sell on for a profit. Suits me, after all we support the club not the players. I'm sure that's been said plenty of times too?

Leicester have decided not to sell their best players
Patrick Bateman replied to Nordic Saint's topic in The Saints
It's different though isn't it? They've won the league with Champions League football next year. We hadn't won the league and we didn't have any European football (although last year we could have had more). As much as we hate them, Lallana and Lovren wanted to move to a bigger club to play European football and get more money. Chambers wanted to go to Arsenal and Morgan and Shaw wanted to go to Man Utd - you can't turn those sort of clubs down, as annoying as it is. Vardy is 29 (?) and probably quite settled, he has Champions League football, he probably has now managed to negotiate a similar level of pay to what Arsenal were offering and for 4 more years, bank-rolled by income from the Champions League, income Saints don't have. -
Because they aren't a 'home nation' in the same way that France aren't a 'home nation'.
-
Good luck to him - no ill feeling here, he wants to play for Pochettino again and in the Champions League, that's fair enough.
-
More than likely. Allegedly ...
-
Why would anyone take that? (Apart from the money)

I don't think the mercenary players deserve it
