Even when we had Fonte / Alderweireld / VVD we didn't play 4 forwards very often, and when we did, we'd play Schneiderlin and Wanyama in midfield who shield the defence considerably better than JWP and Hojbjerg. I'm a big fan of Hojbjerg, but he's not the best at protecting the defence, and neither is JWP. There is a reason why our results massively improved with Romeu in the midfield. If we can get a CB who is better than the current lot, and potentially an upgrade on Romeu, there is a chance we could play 4 up front, but think we're kidding ourselves thinking our players are currently good enough to play that system. We'd always need 3 to win a game.

We would get absolutely battered with that team. No pace at the back, ill-disciplined midfield and 4 forwards.

Depends how much of a good source the "ITK info" was from? As with any stories, when it's hearsay, it's normally heavily over exaggerated. I might be wrong, but I always take ITK info as a pinch of salt.

What's Bertrand done apart from not smile and be black? Slattery? Who knows what he's done apart from maybe come back overweight, we all make mistakes when we're young, lets see how he reacts Likewise Obafemi - Ralph has called him out on his personal life, lets see how he reacts this season. Forster? We gave him a massive contract, what an arsehole for accepting it. Plus rumours of health issues... Boufal? Frustrated I'm sure, not sure he has a particularly bad attitude - he had a falling out with Hughes, no-one knows what it was about..? Lemina? Clearly had an agreement that he'd be let go, thinks he's better than he is...though on his day he's one of the best CM's in the league... Cedric? Just not good enough, don't think I've heard anyone question his attitude Austin? Bit of a bellend yes, and not good enough to play at this level. Oh and plus, I'd guess the majority of footballers are "b3llends" which is what happens when you're young and given upwards of £50k per week.

So sound slike Sebastien Haller (the guy we've been linked with for a while) will be going to West Ham for €40m, assuming this isn't another West Ham publicity stunt....be interested to see how he gets on. Scored a decent amount of goals, and still only 25.

Probably means we're stuck with Stephens which is a shame, maybe Leeds might be interested having lost Janssen.

Good interview. Seems that it was agreed a while back he'd be off, and I've no problem with that. Only issue I have is that post injury he could be absolutely class for us, but the situation doesn't look like it will allow us to see that this season. Good luck to him.

I completely agree with the above post, but when your average premier league players are going for upwards of £30m then Lemina should be going for that too really. Unless we are desperate to get him out and he's been touted around at the higher price and no-one has shown any interest. He's better that the majority of midfielders in this league on his day, but unfortunately for us, his day has been about 1 in 10.
