I'm not a grandad, but maybe you're not as old as me and remember a player named Teddy Sheringham. He didn't score as many goals as others in his role as second striker, but you ask the main strikers that he did play with eg Alan Shearer and they will tell you how fantastic he was. Long is like that. High on effort and workrate, a team player. We all agree that he isn't worth £12M but that isn't his fault. He will alternate with Mane and Jay Rod for the 2nd striker role.

I'm confused too. Only one up front? Pelle?

Maybe today is the day!

That rationale I do agree with. If Rickie can talk Brenda into stamping his leave pass, such that Brenda can see it as a win/win/win for all parties, then it might happen. Everyone's a winner, as Delboy used to say.

But will he? He has gone 'home', Gone full circle. Rejected by Liverpool as a lad, became a journeyman footballer until landed on a ladder (in snakes and ladders terms) with Southampton. He proved his capability with us, such that his boyhood club had to pay to get him back. I honestly think he going back to Liverpool is the final chapter in the story. I just can't see him going on loan to anyone, be it Saints or even Tranmere Rovers. But I would love it if he would do another half season with us. Just can't see it happening.

Ordered mine. Still awaiting delivery. Would be good to get them in before the silly season, post delivery wise. -
Eljero Elia - Confirmed 6 Month Loan

Have we finalised a song yet? Gotta be something around Dexy's "Come on, Elia".......? -
Sanago, of Arsenal put in shop window for loan? We are Arsenal's feeder club, so maybe they can return the favour?
-
Like. But is he Dutch? Ever been to Holland? We need a basis to proceed. Can he sound Dutch like Schteeve?
-
Don't need to. He is FREE to us/another team. Chelsea will pay his wages in full.
-
Good idea. And they are used to playing in cold weather too!
-
Yeah, that, and the fact that some seemed more focused on where to drink all day. Probably spent most of the game peeing.
-
He is signable, even at £50k pw. Pretty sure the club would back Koeman. But ... 5 years ago, I would have been excited. But he's not the player he was. Same argument for Adebayor. Spurs want to loan him out. If we do give them first option on Morgan, maybe we could get Ade as a sweetener. But again, he's not the player he once was. But I would still like him to come and join us.

Yeah, Mane is not fresh yet he resolutely plays him! Is he Mane's father?

Sheff Utd 1-0 Saints Post match carnage.

No, I agree, DazLeTiz. If Koeman trots out his usual drivel "we are playing well, I am not concherned, we make plenty of oppurchoonities" then he can eff right off. Bring back NIGEL ADKINS!!! -
Sheffield United V Saints - Match Thread

Adkins was released when we lost to Man U, City, Chelsea etc Just saying ..... and yet no-one says anything against Koeman. Playing Mane tonight in the form he is in is plain stupidity. -
LOL. Wish she was available tonight!

This is game over. 1-0, maybe even 2-0. They have the bit between their teeth. We are woeful. -
Congrats on getting the Reading job, Steve. You won't be on here as much from now on. All the best.
-
Agree. When we were looking for a winger close season, Dyer was my first choice. I think he could manage more than 10 games before decombusting like Mane.
-
If we are prepared to let him have his pick of clubs in the summer rather than spend money now, that is false economy. Get the deal done now. We need him this season, not just next.
-
That's the decision they have to take, yes. And they might decide he is worth holding onto to end of contract as his value in goal scored exceeds his resale value. If his goals keep them up, then that is worth far more than £10M to them. But I hope we can get him. £10M, £15M whatever he costs. He is a super player and his values off field make him attractive.
