  1. Uruguay been a bit pants really. They obviously miss Suarez, as Liverpool would do similarly. Campbell has no fear. Hopefully Sterling will be the same for us. Can't see Arsenal letting him go in a hurry...
  2. Ron Koeman's brother Erwin is currently out of a job. I wonder if he'll join the coaching staff...
  3. It's on the Beebs live build up feed now. In a way, I think it's a brave and clever selection by Woy, choosing Sterling shows attacking intent which means we're not going to settle for a draw necessarily, and useful for a counter attacking game. It's not so clever by Woy to decide to play Rooney in a wide position on the opening game of the World Cup campaign.
  4. I am Glagow and so's my wife. If it is Koeman, and we believe it is, then I applaud the board for a good choice. They could've gone for the cheap option like WBA did and get slaughtered long term by us, but they've gone for the right choice of a manager with a fairly decent reputation with the ability to attract players to the club. No appointment will unite the fans completely, but this will come fairly close to it. Mind you I suppose the Irvine appointment united the WBA fans, just not in the same way!
  5. That James Rodriguez is a top player, we should sign him. I've always wanted a player called J Rodriguez to play for Saints...... ....oh wait...
  6. Lol@WBA. I don't want Sherwood here but he'd have been a better appointment there than Irvine. Not surprised their fans are going bat **** mental.
  7. I'm up at half six in the morning for work, but I don't care about lack of sleep, I'll be watching it! I've always said I'm a Saints fan first and an England fan a distant second, but I'll be cheering the national team on at the top of my voice, mainly to annoy the autistic 6 year old that lives next door and screams all day and all night long. Do us proud England, do us proud Adam, as well as Luke and even Rickie if they see action.
  8. Does he like a shmoke und a pancake. You know, a flapjack und a shigarette? No? Shigar und a waffle? No? Pipe und a crepe? No? Bong und a blintz? No? Well, then there ish no pleashing him.
  9. Chances are we may need quite a few transfers to put together a strong team next season. Koeman has the 'name' in world football to attract them. I wonder if something he asked for when sorting out personal terms was more freedom in the transfer market to make his own decisions, rather than having a comittee to all decide which player to sign. Purely speculation of course, but if I were a manager, I'd like to know the players I wanted that I were going to manage were the ones at the club. I'm sure Pochettino had his say in the transfers we made under him, but I wonder exactly how much of a say that was... Either way I think Koeman is a top appointment, even if it's for the short term before he does a Hoddle, ressurects his career and ends up at Spurs (!). He's the right man to rebuild the team if the jewels do leave, and could even be the right man to persuade those jewels to stay. He was Van Gaal's assistant at Barcelona too, so not only are the links good for us with other teams, it'll also make the Man Utd v Saints games more interesting!
  10. I suppose from the youth team before the academy was set up you could include Oakley, Hughes, Tisdale etc etc
  11. What about bedwetters with a urine infection? They can't pee even if they wanted to...
  12. A return to stripes...?
  13. Brazil Belgium Last 16
  14. Martinez just signed a 5 year deal at Everton. Strange timing of that announcement!
  15. I'll give him a Bonio if he puts pen to paper.
  16. World Cup has started. Come on Saints, make the announcement.,
  17. i think Galatasaray already have their manager lined up, so that'd make that article ballocks.
  18. His English is very good. Well done Mauricio. It'll come in very handy when you're pleading for your job in 12 months time. :-)
  19. Its good to see WBA fans have as much clue as Saints fans do as to what's happening at our respective clubs...
  20. Stand in any high street in the country masturbating and you could achieve that... FWIW I got France, not going to winit but runner up or third place gets me dosh.
  21. Aaaarrrrrggggghhhhh! Right, starting tomorrow I'm going to St Mary's and I'm going to kill one member of staff every hour until a new manager is appointed.... ...OK not seriously, but starting to get impatient now. It'd be nice to get this sorted before the World Cup. Doubt that'll happen now. Maybe it's wise of the club to appoint a manager during the World Cup so the appointment goes largely under the radar but it'd be nice to know what the future holds soon.
  22. News not coming up at 23:30 re: managerial appointment... There, that should keep a few of you awake past bed time! :-) ...or not...
  23. If we get that on FM 2015, it'll be fun! MLG, let it be done!
  24. As much as we are weakened by Liverpool, we may go and do the same to the likes of Burnley. Anyway, If we stop Liverpool signing our players, they'll stop us signing theirs, and long term we'll benefit more from signing their players than they will ours. Besides I think it'd be nigh on impossible stopping Liverpool signing our cream, one way or another the players will get their wishes, and it'll be on bitter terms if we prove stubborn. I want to keep our jewels as much as the next fan, but if they really want out, get rid for as much dosh as possible and let the manager go out and sign decent replacements.
  25. We should bring back Pulis and Forecast. They were so loyal that they stayed here WAY longer than we wanted them. :-)
