Recently started listening to this and thoroughly enjoy it. Good to put on during a walk after work or in the morning.

https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/self-isolation-and-treatment/how-long-to-self-isolate/ 10 days if you have a positive test. I assume it's because you're further through the virus than if you live with someone who is positive.

Anyone know what's happened to him? Understand he's got a long-term injury but, to me at least, seems bizarre to have bene removed from any of the squads on OS.

Seems a pretty good transfer window to me. The only thing that hasnt got sorted out are the keepers - we still seem to have three of them. Trying to work out what has actually happened. I think that it is the following, but happy to be corrected IN (Permanent): Walker-Peters, Diallo IN (Loan): Walcott OUT (Permanent): Carillo, Boufal, Reed, Hojbjerg OUT (Loan): Lemina, Hoedt, Elyanoussi

Best transfer of the window.

The Sunday Times - Southampton put up for sale at £250m
kwsaint replied to The Odd Guy's topic in The Saints
It's called investment. ML bought the club for around £14 million, invested a significant sum when we were in L1/Championship. Then Kat sold up for £200million once we were in the premier league. The Liebherrs did well out of Saints - and so did we as we got back to the premier league. Not sure how Gao putting money into the club would help Gao - certainly wouldnt increase the clubs value much. At least he is not taking money out of the club (as far as I am aware) and the club is reasonably well run now after the debacle of Puel/MP/Hughes/Reed etc. Gao is clearly not interested in the club but at least it is being left alone. The last thing we want is for someone to come in and asset strip the club (Blackpool/Coventry) and we don't have the revenue to support a leveraged sale as the Glasers got away with at United. We are still recovering financially from 2016-2019 - lots of deadwood we are paying massive salaries to. I would be happy for us to survive in the premier league for the next couple of years, by which time the likes of Hoedt, Carillo, Lemina etc will be off the books and we should be in a better place financially to kick on. And at least the football is generally enjoyable now |yesterday excepted) -

Appear to be asset strippers on the basis of the previous post. Would hate us to go the same route as Blackpool. Problem is that Gao just wants out and will sell to anyone of the price is acceptable. Just hope that there is some truth in the rumour of other bidders -
Found that getting into the site using IE is really slow, but worked perfectly well with Firefox. Then went into IE and switched off notifications. Hey presto worked really well. Thanks everyone.

Would be tempted to put Beattie on the bench and replace him by Tin Man. Or a pot of yogurt.

I remember that when Fraser Forster signed for us he was a distinct improvement on what we then had, and up until his injury was actually playing really well. And was in the England squad. So at the time the contract seemed like a good idea. The problem was that after the injury his form dipped, other teams sussed out his weaknesses and we ended up with a player on our books who was paid a lot and not playing. I think that previous management made much bigger mistakes than the Forster contract - signing Carillo. Hoedt, Lemina. Elyounoussi to name four

Now a group in Eversley Park, Kings Worthy. Process to get rid of them already started and expect them to be gone early next week.

Could Weston shore up the midfield?

No. She is very quiet

On twitch. Kind of Amazon’s version of youtube from what I’ve seen

Been said but Leeds Away version 2.0.

Perhaps we should sign Jimmy Glass and play him as GK/CF?
-
My understanding is that he was suspended earlier in the season so the next suspension is for 2 games and not 1.

You're not the only one. I find the TV obsession with anything to do with Titanic sinking nauseating. As for those who pay obscene amounts for memorabilia words fail me. 538 died from the city. I have seen the map of where they all lived and the concentration of dots in the bottom end of town really does make the point. The impact on the city must have been devastating and it rarely gets a mention. The media keep glamorising it. A disaster in which 1500+ people died wasn't glamourous.

1998/99 for me. We were a long way adrift at Christmas and were in the bottom three virtually all season. Just checked. We got 13 points from the first 19 games and 28 from the second 19 games. Only got out of the bottom three after the Leicester win, with two games left. Home form in the second half of the season was superb, including coming from 3-1 down against Blackburn to grab a point which really swung it.

Not sure that anyone is missing. It's a list of the previous clubs of the 76 cup winning side, including substitute Hugh Fisher. Nick Holmes, Mick Channon and Bobby Stokes came through the youth system, although Stokes had previously been a youth player with Pompey. But he never played for the first team until after he let Saints

Just checked that one. We were 1-0 up at half time and conceded 4 goals in 5 minutes. I was about to write that we scored 3 goals in 4 minutes against Newcastle in 94-95, but think that the Tottenham game trumps that

The right call imo. Can't see them resuming at the beginning of April either.

Just watched the youtube highlights. Both VAR decisions were right much to my amazement I was at the game, and my reaction for both decisions was that the red card was harsh and it was never handball. Along with most of SMS. But the images on the big screen were not the ones that VAR used to make a decision. VAR is here to stay but the way that it is communicated to those at the game needs massive improvement. Also think that the criticism of Valery is harsh. He was knackered after the layoff and should have been subbed earlier. As should Long. Long's decision making today was terrible, although he ran his socks off. Twice he got through and went for tight angle shots rather than squaring it.
