  1. Unbelievable that after all the managers we've had, Pardew gets sacked after just one ****ing year in charge, during which he just missed out on the playoffs and won a trophy. He'd only lost one league game this season and had the players back on song again too.
  2. Nutshell.
  3. I agree with this. We need to rebuild the Dell and get back to the good old days when we didn't lose lots of games we wanted to win.
  4. I reckon I could knock down a wall.
  5. Sweden is the only country I'd consider moving to from here. I spent a Summer living in Gothenburg and loved it there. You'd probably find the cost of living too high here.
  6. Reading this forum in general, I'd think saints were hopeless from the management right through the entire squad. Reading comments from people who actually give details about seeing the game: we're playing pretty well and creating lots of chances but need to convert more of them. Most people impressed with how we're playing. A couple of key players who have been injured still aren't clicking properly yet. I know which ones I'll listen to. Panic over.
  7. Both Oakley and Davies were slated week in, week out for strolling around the pitch looking disinterested. They were always rated very poor by 90% of the people who commented on match reaction threads. Davies was on enormous wages and playing terribly and we couldn't believe at the time that we'd been lucky enough that another club had taken him on. Oakley was criticised constantly until he was injured long-term, then he became the very player we needed. Then he came back and wasn't that good and everyone criticised him again. I remember him and Prutton getting arun out in some cup match after relegation and everyone agreeing that they were poor and disinterested and we needed to get rid. Naturally, once he was gone again, he was once more the very player everybody said we were missing. It's very confusing not being able to get to games and having to read the opinions of others who were at the game. Everyone's rubbish until they're not playing, then they're brilliant. I reckon if Hammond gets injured now and is out for a while, he'll pretty soon be considered our best player. People will go on about how he does the simple stuff nobody notices really well and how he is just what we're missing. Then he'll come back and everyone will say he's **** again.
  8. Remember kids, cleverness = money, money = happiness.
  9. That's not right. I've taught in both private and state schools. I'd say if anything the harder working, more talented and more dedicated teachers were in the state system. There were more lazy and uninvolved teachers in the private system, but generally they're pretty similar. The difference is more as a result of class size, funds and parental involvement. Parents who are paying tend to follow things up a lot more at home.
  10. Garrod's got a profile on the OS. He's an academy striker.
  11. Marmite is foul, Vegemite is delicious. "Marmite" stems from a French word meaning hypocrite. Also an antioxidant fact, as they were mentioned here somewhere: There has been no evidence whatsoever (despite a lot of testing) that taking extra antioxidants is in any way beneficial. There has however been evidence produced that antioxidant supplements cause liver damage and heart attacks.
  12. You're getting married to a man? Not that there's anything wrong in it, just surprised.
  13. Lol at people taking Deano6/TijuanaSaint/SaintGeorge/alloftheotherAmericantrolls seriously.
  14. I find that hard to believe. B*j is "impartial".
  15. Yep, Saints fans forget pretty quickly. Kevin Keegan was another great player who was very good for us back in the early eighties and definitely deserves a mention.
  16. I can't believe nobody on here's said Matt Le Tissier. In my opinion he was a legend for Saints.
  17. A bit of perspective. There are about 21,000 schools in England. There are about 3000 schools in Scotland. There are about 1800 schools in Wales. There are about 1000 schools in Northern Ireland. That's close to 27,000 schools in the United Kingdom. This means that these figures, if correct, indicate far less than one incompetent teacher in each school. Of course there are some poor teachers out there, but not a high number in proportion to other professions. This is all a bit alarmist.
  18. Not especially, do you?
  19. I thought it was spelt "Barrie".
  20. He said the majority of moderators, you idiot. I'd hardly put the opinions of the majority of normal posters (especially ones who haven't paid) on the same level as the opinions of the majority of moderators.
  21. Reading through this, all I can see is a serious contribution to the debate from Wiltshire, followed by a self-confessed biased response and thinly veiled threat from Baj. Wiltshire may have been responsible for wind-ups at times, but surely should only be encouraged when joining in sensibly? FWIW Ponty is by far the most impartial mod on here, I've rarely heard of petty, personal infractions dished out by him, even when he's being baited.
  22. This is just another typical made up Stanley scare story about illegal aliens coming into the country.
  23. Yeah, yeah, that's what's become clear on this thread, can't argue with that. You win.
