  1. Rubbish OP. No facts - not even a defendable argument.
  2. Big gamble not adding some more quality in midfield. Disappointing, but there's not much happening and we're starting to look quality.
  3. Laughable.
  4. Thanks - good report and sounds like the game I watched.
  5. lol - not in the context you've quoted it...no.
  6. It was not just about his substitutions. The manner in which he has changed the team by (a) pressing hard when not in possession and (b) drilling balls through channels more centrally, made a massive difference to the way we played. We denied them opportunities and the only problem we had was converting chances - you don't get many at OT, so when you do you need to take them. Davies missed a glorious chance to draw - he is not good enough on the ball unfortunately and we need better.
  7. Interesting how Boruc was iced out by Adkins - you'd think a goalie would know who was best. Perhaps he had his arm twisted - who knows. Simple fact is, Boruc put on a world-class show for the Utd game this evening making 2-3 of the most incredible saves - up there with Niemi's best IMO.
  8. If we had finished better we would have three points from tonight. Simple. And there is big difference between celebrating a loss and being proud of a performance.
  9. I went into this game expecting nothing - no points - no satisfaction. OK, we got no points, but I got huge satisfaction seeing my team outplay Utd's mega-£m's team for a large proportion of the game. I'm proud of that performance and after just one week in charge, our new Manager is definately starting to make a difference. Of course the Cortese haters will be out in force too, trying to find the negatives.
  10. Performance of a top 10 team if not top 6! Just simply superb and particularly from Boruc who was immense this evening. Well done lads and well done Pochi - we looked like a team on fire - a real Prem team. Only thing that was lacking was the finishing, however to pin ManUre into their own half for much of the last 10 minutes of a game AND have Fergie on the line demanding the ref blow the whistle is testiment to the excellent display. We need to go out like that and smash Wigan.
  11. Oh, sure I don't mind having a sensible discussion about the possibility and how it might happen - in fact I'd enjoy that. What I find hard to tolerate is posters who dismiss the idea with comments by labelling those who believe as "mentalists" or similar. Or those that base future aspirations on historical events. Neither of those positions make any sense atall to me.
  12. My word I would love us to sign Biglia. Probably about as much chance of that happening as Lambert getting a hattrick tonight. (;
  13. Seriously, I don't get it. Why do you seem to take so much pleasure in taking p1ss out of Saints? If you're not a skate - and I don't believe for one minute you are - then you must make these comments because you're a huge WUM, but then you don't come across as a 10 year-old either. Like I say, I don't get it. Back on track - as I said before, when taking into account what has happened since he came here, the future looks bright indeed. Whether that transpires into a top four place remains to be seen, but does it matter? I think someone once mentioned it's the climb that counts. Sometimes I wonder whether ManUre fans get bored watching the same old every week.
  14. Sarcasm - lowest form of wit. You must lead a dark life - no hope, no belief. Yep, you sure proved me right, but at least you had the courage of your convictions and admitted to it.
  15. I think it's Tuesday evening and the window shuts on Friday evening so we've got time to be patient. Until Friday evening, there is a chance that we will sign one or more players. How much of a chance? I would say 40/60 against if I'm honest, although there seem to be a few tasty rumours doing the rounds.
  16. Mmm, UT clips make him look better than Guly that's f'sure. Would be a great signing if true. (:
  17. Well I have to say if any of the rumours recently offered up here come true, we can look forward to some really, really exciting football!
  18. Of course it's possible - mostly anything is possible, if the conditions are right. Cortese can't guarantee anything other than putting in place all the ingredients to make the conditions right. And then inspire his staff to achieve. So many losers on this forum talk about the possibility of us competing within the top 4 as if it will never happen because it's never happened before (err, we were pretty close some years back as I recall). Well that's a sure fire way of ensuring something will NOT happen! You can look back and say "we can never do that because we've not done it before", or you can take ownership and make history the way you want it. We put on a brilliant show against City, Utd and Chelski with not much more than a L1 squad, so with some class additions why can't we compete at the top? I repeat - it's definately possible...if not, what's the point? (Cue all the losers shooting me down with reasons why top 4 will never happen and thus prove my point!).
  19. First off, I don't think Fox is as bad as some are stating - he's perfectly good cover for Shaw. However, Clyne did exceptionally well I thought at LB and Richardson appears to still be around for RB duties, plus there's Cork and Yoshi who could step in too. If Fox is to go, I'm not convinced we'll see a new face in this window.
  20. Amazing - all the luvvies spouting on here about how great MLT was..."BEST SAINTS PLAYER EVER!"...yet 46 posts in he still hasn't been mentioned (unless someone goes back and edits their post of course!). For me it would have to be Paine, Sydenham, Ron Davies and Channon.
  21. Thanks for posting that vid - really nice to see again. (:
  22. I don't get the De Ridder hate by some on here - seems he's the new Guly. Yet he has hardly had the chance to prove himself, has not done too badly when appearing and is one of the few players with genuine pace. Mayuka has been no better IMO. We do need a very capable and adaptable attacking wide man though.
  23. As you are clearly closer to matters involving 'the lounge' than I am, I respect your comments, however to be fair you have provided no real evidence - I.e. something you personally have experienced. You follow up a little information with much more conjecture which is all too common with so many posting on here. The trouble is indirectly told stories are often full of inaccuracies and innuendo and almost certainly the context of the information is lost in the telling. Sorry, but for that reason, I'm out!
  24. Utter BS. Not one quote from Luke.
