Not really over the top no. Someone saying his public reaction to the story shows he knows he will be surplus is over the top. Or you can say the same for NA's statement about the story on Saints Player. We may well be actively looking to stengthen wide positions, but until we do Chaplow will still be seen as able to do a job on the right of midfield. I refer, as someone else already has, to the Palace away game last season where he was outstanding. I still think that with seven subs NA will have Chaplow on the bench more often than not.

What a load of crap. You know for sure he will be surplus do you ? He can play central midfield and right midfield, he adds pace to the middle and is the only midfielder we had last season who regularly made runs into the penalty box. To say his reaction to a story that is obviously made up is because he knows he will be surplus is incredible.

For a start S_Clarke is one of the few people on here who does NOT hurl abuse around on this site. Secondly everyone is entitiled to their opinion, yeah even on here, but seriously how can you decide after 20 mins that Gazziniga is no better than Bart ? There was a good save, a bad kick out and what else did he have to do ? Wether the groovy gang (what ?) or the thought police (what the hell ?) approve or disaprove of your opinion surely you can see that 20 mins to judge a new keeper is a little OTT. I remember after about 20 mins against Bournemouth in the League Cup a couple of years ago I thought the kid on the wing was out of his depth. That was Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and how bloody wrong was I ?

If we were to pay megga bucks for a player then pay wages of £100k a week I would want someone whose performances arent quite so patchy as Theo's and who doesnt spend so much time injured as Theo.

You will be shot down for that. I tried to point out exactly what you have said about Fox last season and was told it was nonsense. Still as the club seem to be actively pursuing another left back perhaps those that matter also have the same reservations.

If you could put the best bits of both together you would have one hell of a left back for sure.

It was nowhere near 800k, both Adam Blackmore and Simon Peach have tweeted independantly that we settled a fraction of that.

Carlton Palmer is the one that immediately springs to mind. Who knew he would be so good, at least for a season.

Yes but as someone has just said its in his interests to do so. If he impresses and gets into the squad will he revert back to his old self, job done ? Like I said I dont trust him and would be wary of his motivation.

If we bring in another forward or midfield player who has pace and can play out wide then no. If we dont sign anyone like that then he could well make it into the 25. Personally I wouldnt take the risk, you cant trust the guy.
