Put our CBs in the order you think they belong.

Vestergaard thus far seems to make a difference as while i'm sure we'll find out he's not perfect either over a longer period of games, he does seem to actually be able to communicate/lead the backline which since fonte/van Dijk haven't appeared good on that front. Vestergaard Yoshida Stephens Bednarek Hoedt -
Slightly odd move as wide men is one area we aren't particularly well stocked. Hopefully he can play regularly there and build on the very promising limited appearances he had for Saints. Hope Hesketh is the next to get out as i don't see him having a hope of featuring under Hughes.
-
Would rather he wasn't. Never liked him as a manager. I think the level of atrociousness of other teams was more why we stayed up last season. The results were hardly inspiring. With the caveat that its only 2 games, so far this season its been dirty ugly football(especially on Sat) without even positive results to mitigate it I think we'll probably stay up(especially as we seem to have gambled next season's transfer kitty on Ings) but can't see us troubling the top half.

So if he had taken off the goalkeeper to add an attacker you’d describe that as an attempt to 8mprove our attack. Throwing countless attackers on without maintaining any kind of possession of the ball is a sure fire strategy to lose. Replacing a striker with a history of scoring goals with one who has barely scored in 2 years. Not sure what Armstrong did that couldn’t be described as static if that’s your description of jwp’s display. Probably the least bad of the three but equally bad because Hughes had seen how badly his first 2 moves had gone and this one did nothing to attempt to corr3ct the problem.
-
..... the subs offered more in attack. I needed a good laugh. How anyone could think the inept substitutions made by Hughes had that effect is beyond me. Maybe meant Everton offered more in attack.
-
I think I & Mark Hughes have a completely differen5 interpretation of what entertaining entails Spending more time kicking the opposition coupled with hump ball doesn’t do it for me.
-
Yeah tv highlights were massively flattering, glossing over our thuggish approach and showing both moments(Pickford kick and attack when whistle blew) when these were pretty much only times we had possession after the idiotic tactical moves of Hughes.
-
He didn’t give us a corner because he had already played past the allotted injury time to let us complete the attack.
-
Can’t stand this new endangerment interpretation. Should lead to multiple red cards a game if consistently applied.
-
would like to see hojberg & yoshi start & gallagher to at least be on the bench.
-
Embarrassing hearing he’s trying to pin the blame on ref/opp for last 30 mins performance & not his abject tactical changes.
-
Clearly i was watching a different game as i saw saints kicking lumps out of everton & justifiably getting booked. Lemina getting booked, then being called for a second(if debatable foul), then hauling down an everton player for a third one when he lost control of the ball. Only one 50/50 with redmond seemed to be harsh against us imo
-
What exactly did the ref do wrong other than not sending off Lemina for a blatant second yellow?
-
We've got multiple problems but yeah Hughes is up there.
-
Why hughes sent for Long was bad but why Hughes thinks throwing extra attackers on and losing any semblance of midfield control was a sensible idea is far far worse. Chump management 101.
-
Better second half!!!!!!!!!!! What game were you watching, for the last 30 mins we barely touched the ball due to the tactical mastery of our manager. If Ings had of scored his chance in the first half would you consider that a great half too.
-
Worrying that i'm already grateful that cardiff and newcastle both dropped 2 points in this relegation battle.
-
The players aren't perfect but i'm not willing to excuse a manager who's tactics seem to be lump it , kick the opposition & if we are losing throw attackers on losing any faint control of the ball we may have had.
-
Depressing that we are being managed by a witless idiot. When a saints manager makes three moves that actually make Everton more comfortable you've either got to be worried about his tactical acumen or whether he wants everton to win. When you think that Leeds managed to attract Bielsa in the division below and we've got sir hump a lot in charge. At least Ings got his first goal & we've got vestergaard to come back. Please let that be Long's last game & i used to be supportive of him. Loan him out now. Everton were there for a taking too.
-
How much was Hughes paid to make the three tactical moves by Everton. Saints in danger of getting an equalizer so he removes the entire midfield to make sure Everton win.
-
Lemina should have been red carded there
-
Gabbi didn’t look impressed by that sub.
-
Pretty depressing stuff. Never was a fan of hughes. Only thing we are winning at is being right thugs. We used to try to press and play football, now its sit back and lump it long. Sad thing is that it probably is the best time to play everton as they are so weak at centre back. Ings shot when he should have crossed to austin, lacked composure to give Pickford a chance to make a fab recovery save and then tried to play austin in when he should have shot. On the positive side at least he looks a handful.

Embarrassing so far.

Not a fan of the lineup or bench Disappointing that there is no vestergaard. Though there could have been worse games to be without him. I'd prefer yoshi for hoedt. What is long doing making the bench? Disappointing that he's persisting with him rather than giving anyone else a chance. Also assume armstrong can't be fully fit or else he would be starting
