Shame for him and i think a mistake by them. Saw they lost their last couple of games and thought that might mean the end for him.
-
Annoying. If van gaal had of acted like bilic and brought on a defender to protect the lead the turnaround might not have happened. On to Chelsea and Stoke then.
-
Personally hope we avoid Steklenburg. Thought he was very very average. From limited amount i've seen on U21's Gazzaniga has improved. It's time at 24 either to decide if he's considered good enough by coaches to be back up. If not we should go out and buy a young replacement.

Arrogant, past his best, would demand an obscene wage. Runs completely contrary to everything we've done these last few years. So desperately hope this never happens.

Some palace players will be desperate to impress to try and get in team for Final. So don't think we should take result for granted. When Saints got to the final we won our last game of season didn't we, away to City.

Post-Match Reaction: Spurs 1-2 SAINTS
Baird of the land replied to adrian lord's topic in The Saints
Great display by Saints. Rode our luck slightly to get the win but you have to do that away against a good spurs side. Now need to keep our foot on the gas against Palace and hope others drop points. Lovely composure by Davis for the 2nd. Coupled with great workrate, got into great attacking positions today and showed just what an asset he is to Saints . My MOM. Fantastic save by fraser at the death. At fault for the 1st but i'll take a terrific keeper inside his 6 yard box who's got a slight flaw in terms of sweeping. Martina was the weak link 1st half but clearly helped by instruction after that and did better. still think we need to invest in a top drawer right back in the summer though. Glad they took off Son who was causing us all sorts of problems. -
If he won't commit to any form of extension then yes i'd argue we'd be better served getting rid of him this summer than have the uncertainty hanging over the club in the summer and beyond. We are not going to get Jose. I hope we avoid Pellegrini. Not overly excited at the prospect of Howe either. I'd be tempted to look abroad again. I don't know if De Boer would be interested.

Yeah this is how I see it. There is likely tension but Whilst the 1st team results are going his way Ron has latitude to get away with his reticence in regards the academy.

Board have done good job thus far, both commercially and in terms of player recruitment and managerial appointment. Where I have doubts its in terms of how ruthless they will be if Koeman refuses to commit to a new contract. Expect us to lose a couple of players so of course there will be a mini meltdown over it.
-
Excellent performance and puts europa league back on the table. Huge game against Spuds next. Tadic, Long and Mane unplayable at times. Big decision for the board in the summer whether to cash in on Mane or keep hold of him and sell him for less with only one year on his deal. He's such a game changer i'd be tempted to keep him despite the fact it's african nations next year. Thought Martina was the poorest of the starting xi on display. At fault for the first and out of position several times. Still he did play a delicious ball for a goal. Think Cedric may come back in next week though. Jrod needs a good telling off for being utterly selfish during his cameo. The players in red shirts were in his team so pass to them rather than trying to beat the entire city team on his own. Iheancho is a good little prospect and glad Aguero stayed on the bench.
-
Long, Mane, Tadic all extremely impressive. Davis, Clasie and Vic all very good. I'd take off Clasie not because he's been bad but because he's been booked. Van Dijk is having one of his wobbliest games for us. Goal was extremely frustrating. Martina poor for it. At 2-0 i fancied us. At 2-1 we've given them an avenue back into it.

Hoped Swansea would respond at home after several very sloppy displays. Let's just hope they can keep it up & we can do our part. Annoyed that i left Ayew out of my fantasy side though.
-
Good news that he is staying imo. In all probability if he'd left they'd be coming after Koeman.
-
I'd be disappoointed if he viewed them as a step up.
-
Mane with 2 years left and an african nations disrupted season to come. If he won't sign a new deal this summer's probably the ideal time to sell. From the potentially relegated teams i think Wijnaldum and Redmond could be good additions. I'm rather averse to the notion of Depay, especially his attitude. If we were to pick up any makeweight in the deal with utd i'd prefer a young player(as a nord iron fan i think Mcnair has the makings of a very good defensive midfielder if Koeman thinks Reed isn't up to the grade)
-
Decent display. Hesketh impressive in the 2nd half. Some nice play and a good goal from Gallagher. Gazzaniga some very impressive reaction saves and then a moment of pure sloppiness dropping a cross. Thought Jones looked assured and good to see Gardos getting more minutes under his belt.
-
Think both Clasie and Romeu have potential. I have been somewhat won over by Romeu the more i see of him. He's cut out the stupid wild lunges that could have earned him straight reds. Clasie on the otherhand has taken some time to adjust to the premier league. At times he oozes class whilst at other times he's gone missing. Given that Vic leaves as expected i think the pair have the potential as a combination. If Koeman stays i assume we'll go after another big man to compete with Romeu, whilst you would hope JWP would compete with Clasie.

Hope a different Swansea turn up at home to Liverpool next Sunday. As for the title race, feel next week will be key. If Spurs beat Chelsea and Leicester drop points at old Trafford the race suddenly looks much more open. Leicester still very big favourites though.
-
Just happy we got the 3 points. At times our defending and finishing seemed likely to let them get something. Long caused them all sorts of problems. Scored one and set up too but his finishing is so frustrating. Had him as my fantasy football captain and am frustrated he didn't get the hatrick his play deserved. Hopefully Koeman will force him to shoot using his left all next week. Tadic excellent too. Great result by Newcastle too. On to big game next week.
-
Thoroughly annoying. Still worried we will contrive to let them away with a draw to be honest despite the problems long is causing them. Hope Koeman lays into them heavily at HT. I'd get Mane on for Jrod too.
-
He's a defensive midfielder who's not got the sort of range of passing that Morgan had or some of our other mids have but this is more than compensated by his physical strength. Assume he's off to Spurs and we'll likely probably get a little more than what we paid for him because of the shortness of his contract. Don't think that's a bad deal considering he's been a good player for us in the meantime. I'd like him to re-sign but i'm not broken up by the prospect. We'll move on and sign another young defensive mid. I'll be more worried if we lose Mane because he's the sort of player that can turn a game on its head by his skill.
-
Hope that if he doesn't sign some kind of extension we have steel to replace him in the summer. I don't think him running down his final year would be at all good for saints.
-
Helps they had a much more balanced side, having an actual left back, no stephen taylor and playing 2 decent defensive midfielders rather than playing Shelvey out of position there.
-
Annoying Bournemouth couldn't do us a favour against a weakened Liverpool. Now need Everton to turn up midweek with a shock.
-
Think we need 9 if not more points from last 4 to have any shot at Europe. A must win. What are the rules regarding concussion?
