I hope that is the case, however something tells me the Qatari money lining the pockets of FIFA officials say otherwise.

FA Cup 4th round draw - Sunday 2pm - HOME v YEOVIL TOWN
bpsaint replied to The Kraken's topic in The Saints
Happy with our draw, disappointed by the few all Prem ties though. -
Apart from the last two goals we conceded Kelvin played a blinder by the looks of the highlights. That save to prevent us going 3-2 down was a cracker. Wish we'd attempt shots like the goals were scored today in the league, always seems like we're trying to pass it into the net and always try one pass too many. Can't remember the last time Lambert cracked a shot like that, or when Clyne even tried anything like that.

Why did did they stop that tradition, was it to do with ITV or at the behest of the FA? One of my fave FA Cup memories was myself and about 10 work mates huddled around a pokey little radio listening to Sven Goran Eriksson drawing Watford then us out of the hat in 03. Cue wild celebrations in the canteen! Back to the op, and I'd ideally like a lower league team at home in the next round. Bournemouth if they get through would be a laugh.

Good player, but if we were to get a new striker in I would rather we signed one who is a proven goal scorer at this level, and not someone who takes time to bed in ala J-Rod.
-
Whilst it always been known the near post isn't one of his strengths it'd be a bit harsh to blame that third goal on him. Most strikers would probably shoot across goal I that position, Kelv was expecting the same judging by his body language, he'd already decided to dive that way and got caught out.

It'll be fine thanks to the low tide at kickoff. Games have gone ahead in far worse weather at SMS.

Wow, what an absolutely moronic post. Like others said Crouch was the only one to pump money out of his own pocket into to keeping the club afloat in the months prior to the Liebherr takeover when other fans with the cash just sat back and watched. Of course lets not forget he paid for the replacement Ted Bates statue out of his own pocket too. If I bumped into him on match day I'd have no qualms in shaking his hand and thanking him for keeping the club limping along in 2009, without his cash we might not have lasted till ML and NC come along. His leaving statement from 2007: http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/1564979.0/

Well chuffed with the progress so far, although am mightily disappointed with the dip in form due to injuries. Villa and Spurs at home stand out from most as I really think we'd have got at least 4 points from those games. Terrible foresight from our management/recruitment team not to bring adequate defensive cover, espically with the money spent on Dani which isn't looking too good a decision currently. the January transfer window will give us a very good indication of where NC wants us to finish depending on whether reinforcements are bought in.
-
J-Rod will get another chance if he carries on at this rate I'm sure, he really needs to take it big time to go to Brazil. I reckon Lambert is already pencilled in, it would take something special from Andy Carroll to take his place IMO. Lallana just needs to carry on what he's doing and he'll be on the plane f'sure

EXCLUSIVE: Manchester United plan to sign Adam Lallana
bpsaint replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
No chance, he'll still be with us for a while I reckon. -
Seen this mentioned on a few different threads but I don't see why he needed to celebrate it really as like most of us he was probably ****ed off that we threw away a lead so softly, and that his goal merely made it 2-2 because Jos and Gazza screwed up again. Maybe he had no faith his goal would count for much given our defence at the moment. Think people are looking for something that isn't there.
-
Yes, the way he remained rooted to his line for the first was embarrassing, just like one of the goals we conceded against Villa. A keeper should at the very least attempt to claim any cross into the 6 yard box.
-
Is he not intelligible as he has already represented France U-21's?
-
Begovic would be a cracking signing, don't know why he'd want to leave Stoke for us though, it's not a big as step as it would be if one of the usual top 6 were after him.
-
Just thinking the same, there's enough rumours as it is, let alone the pressure this will put on.
-
I liked Anders, thought he was a very decent player, but was perhaps a bit too technical for the way we played football back then. He'd have been a hell of a player in the Adkins team I reckon. As mentioned above that spurs game in the cup is probably my favourite memory of him, or his MOTM performance away at Leicester which was also a 4-0 win. left under a bit of a cloud if I remember rightly, was quoted in the Swedish press about how he was in danger of getting a bad neck from watching all the long balls go over his head, and claiming he'd reveal all about the shambles behind the scenes when he writes an autobiography one day.

Saints v Skates, F.A. Youth Cup Third Round, Match Thread FULL TIME 7-0!
bpsaint replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
Pretty sure Craig Richards moved to Australia to try his luck at football, not sure how he got on or if he's still down under. Incidentally he has the honour of being the first player of any age group to score a Saints hattrick at St Mary's, which isn't bad considering he was a defender. -
Pretty uninspiring choice of TV games apart from the North London derby. Genuinely thought we might get a look in considering how ours and Burnley's league seasons are going.

Do West Ham still class themselves as "The academy of football"? About time we took the nickname if you ask me. -
Post Match Reaction: SAINTS 2-3 Aston Villa
bpsaint replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Hard to argue with this, Gazza would have easily been able to punch it clear at the very least. -
My mate has just posted a pic on fb of Villa having a prematch training session down Riverside Park, let's hope a few of their players turn a few ankles in the countless holes and divots!!

Correct me if i'm wrong, but despite their point today everyone else's results means they are even closer to the drop zone than before 3pm today. All together now..... Sha la la la la la la la
