Under Armour

Pretty sure Cortese wouldn't have poked up with it.............. wasn't it him who had a set to with Adidas?

Something needs to be done as replica kit sales is an integral part of the club (go to SMS on a warm sunny day and there are plenty of fans who buy them). In previous years with UA there have been supply issues with the lesser kits. Last Christmas someone asked in the Megastore about the Goalkeepers shirts - the reply from staff was a frustrated "for some reason we just can't get them". To drop the ball on the main shirt has to be grounds to walk away from a pretty long contract, if I remember correctly.

Just watch out that we don't end up with stuff from that new sub division of our main shirt sponsor - LD Sportswear!

Umbro ! they have made the best looking kits since making a brand relaunch.

But the problem is will give us the most money and UA have near on been doubling what we had on adidas before.

UA has been the worst selling kit and training gear EVER in the Saints shops due to ridiculous pricing.

Are you accusing him of lying?

No, but who is the third party? Appointed by us or UA? Why has this happened 3 years running? Why are UA sales declining so dramtically in the states? Do they make kits for any other UK clubs?

Personally, they are over priced and obviously not interested.

On what grounds break the contract?

The commercial director has said that it is a 3rd party, not Under Armour that is at fault for the kit delay.

I would think that if in a contract with a kit manufacturer who could not deliver any kit then that would be good grounds to break the contract.

As others have highlighted, it depends who has the contract with this "3rd party".

If the 3rd party is a supplier to UA then that wouldn't stop UA being in breach of contract with Saints.

Analogy klaxon...

If you contract a caterer to cater for your wedding reception and the butcher fails to supply the caterer with meat and as a result the caterer can't provide the catering you contracted them to provide, then the caterer are in breach of contract with you...

Seem to struggle every year.

Was there a problem last year? The issue this year appears to be with the logo, not the shirt. Perhaps you should find out who is responsible for that instead of launching a pointless attack on UA.

It's on the kit the players wear but isn't visible in those pictures. (Assume it's on the replica kits).

A third party are making the replica kits with the new sponsor, so no UA logo.

From SFC site:  In order to get the shirts re-made as quickly as possible, the club’s Technical Partner Under Armour have kindly granted the club permission to replicate the shirts via a third-party provider. As a result, the shirts will be an exact replica of the playing shirts worn by Ralph Hasenhüttl’s first team, but without Under Armour branding.

None of these companies actually make the clothes, kits, shoes etc themselves it all goes out to third party manufacture, would not be surprised if designs was sub contracted too. Under Armours ultimate problem is that they started of making compression shorts and other tight fitting tops, blew up into a big brand sticking their logo on all starts of apparel, opening a ton of its own retail space and then the novelty wore off. Then they were just another sports brand and they had to start closing their stores because they over expanded. This is what happens when people dream big, and the thing ends up being large and not huge.
