Not today then...

Weston Super Saint

With the bank vaults now firmly shut I'm guessing there won't be any Pinnacle takeover today.

Since MLT said Monday or Tuesday, I guess if it doesn't happen tomorrow then it's over to MJ

Think MJ faked his death then for life insurance to be our buyer then? :D

...Sorry it had to be done

I have a feeling Pinnacle wont do it in time. The other consortiums must be in a position to complete a deal in the next 24-48 hrs. Whoever is in the lead, I would get a move on! Cos you might lose, and we want to watch football matches with Saints in next season.

I have been away for the weekend only to return and see nothing has happened and the same dross being repeated over and over.

The only worthy item of news is the sale of one of our most talented home grown players. There is nothing like sticking the knife in and twisting it. :smt098

:smt082 Best bit of news to come out of St Marys for a long time. £1m. Still can't get over that.

Didn't we buy him from Notts County?

We won't be saved...

I know you're taking this badly, so how about I GIVE you my spare TOTTON ticket, when we get there. :D

I don't even believe Friday is as final as Mr Fry makes out. With player sales, it is quite possible to limp over the starting line of the first fixture, and then it is up to Saints fans to keep the club going week by week via their attendances.

Clubs have certainly started seasons in admin. I don't see why Saints can't. I think the FL will let us play (starting at -10 of course).

It won't be pleasant. These things never are. But the game is not over yet. Not by a long way.

Fry's fall-back position to be announced Friday? (It's got to be Friday!)

I thought if a sale hadnt been completed by Friday Fry will be speaking to the SFC directors to disgus the options. Dont think we will hear anything about it till the Monday at the earliest if it goes that far. But it would be a fair guess to say that if we go that far with no buyer we are buggered!

For me if it dont happen tomorrow I think we are up the creek! Depending on if the FL give the money from the sales of DMG /Surman, we might be able to fight for another month and hope someone else comes in. But Im very surprised it has got this far considering the legal things that have to be done to get to this stage. My belief / hope is fading :(

Yes but we need a team unfortunately and we will lose more players than we gain.

From looking at BBC and SKY websites other teams are building their sides and all seem to have managers.

God knows how long it would take Pinnacle to get in a manager

I'm assuming you mean Surman rather than McGoldrick ?

Clear that McG wanted to go, spiritual home and all that. If you recall he almost went before. So if Fry can get £1m for someone who was going anyway (£1m on the books, even if not cash in had because of embargo on transfer moneys) then that is very good business in my opinion. He could have walked in 1 week for nothing anyway, perhaps Forest are bigger mugs than I always took them for, or perhaps Forest are clear that the takeover is going to happen, why else would they have stumped up a million for nothing.

In any case McG is not what we need in Division 3, and really was not that good in the CCC, so no great loss. We need fighters, and he was a pussycat.

Agree completely with the first para actually Vectis, i must admit when put like that i can see the benefits !!

However, i DO think he will be a loss, he looked much more at home in the middle of the park towards the end and had a great season for port vale when he played there (their player of the year) i think we will miss him, i agree i think he was a little lost up front (but this could be attributed to bad creativity, team etc as i said before) but with a holding midfielder he would have been good.

Lets hope the anti brigade are proved right (not a dig) and if so i will humbly admit i was wrong, i fear however he will prove another big loss.

Bad creativity does not equal missing open goals and penalties though!

I wasn't saying it would have been good if he had stayed, but our priorities will be to get some brute ugly strikers, someone like McG would have added some gloss, which we can do without this season. I suspect with the right coaching he will become good, but he will also likely flourish in his home environment - one of the drawbacks of signing young kids from other clubs, they tend to get homesick.
