Pompey Takeover Saga

It would be interesting to know how many people have lost there jobs because of Pompey. Terry Clarkes company (Terry The Builder) used to be in Quayside Rd in Bitterne, they went to the wall about a year ago. How many more companies need to go bust before the skates are put down.

Liam Buckler ‏@Liam_Buckler @GregHalford15 why can't you comprehend as a pompey player that you have to leave NOW? If you/ teammates fail to grasp this then we're dead

Mick Williams ‏@mickwill @Liam_Buckler@GregHalford15 and players will get NOTHING in liquidation as well as everyone else. Sad times! #Pompey

Phill Russell ™ ‏@Phill_Russell Those 8 senior players should be ashamed of themselves. Poor staff being sacrificed once again. Players aren't bigger than the club #Pompey

Liam Buckler ‏@Liam_Buckler @mickwill@GregHalford15 baffles me that there are players still left. Oh, you really love the club? It really shows it. Ridiculous #pompey

Greg Miles ‏@Greg_KOS_sport If #Pompey get liquidated because 8 already well paid footballers don't want to lower their wages demands, they will have to go into hiding.

Russell ‏@RussellSFC Ben Haim remains on £35k per week yet normal members of staff of #Pompey get made redundant, absolute disgrace.

The leopard doesn't change its shorts, as Terry Pratchett would say.

They have shown that not only have they not changed their ways, they don't want to change their ways because they're special.

And that is why they should be put out of their misery ASAP

They really are a disgusting bunch down the road, the players all took a wage deferral so some staff could keep their jobs and keep the few going(I seem to remember they were praised for this at the time). Funny now they are being slagged off as the evil ones for wanting their money which they agreed to at the time, to save their fat infested hole of a club LOL. They are like spoiled children, who for far too long have screamed, shouted, and stamped their little webbed feet until they have recieved what they want.

The well is dry you DFSCB's time to shut up & take whats coming with a little grace. Typical of the inbreads threatning violence.

God bless 4-slice toasters!

Shocking - the abuse now aimed at the players on Twitter - just type #pompey into Twitter and some of those comments are just unbelievable and dare I say illegal.. Still The "south's reporters would be happy now they have whipped up a frenzy

Did we ever get to a definitive answer on here as to whether the players would get anything from another source (PFA, Parachute Payments, FL, etc) if Pompey go into liquidation?

I seem to recall it being as inconclusive as ever the last time it discussed

We never got a definitive answer. The PP's may well be used to settle Football Creditor debts but no-one knows how the money would get prioritised or the order of payment, whether it would just cover deferrals or future contractual payments. I don't think that there are any official rules and the authorities will make up the rules on the hoof, should it be necessary.

Brinkmanship is the order of the day and Trev keeps telling them that this time it really is the last chance saloon and the money really, really has run out. The players are, presumably, hunting for new clubs desperately. I still think that being a sole holdout is the best result (TBH excluded). Too many holdouts and the club fails, but how would you feel if you agreed a 'compromise' agreement and your former team mate holdout gets paid in full?

You really couldn't make it up...

@pn_neil_allen: Am told #Pompey will be playing in the white 2010 FA Cup final strip. Word has it captain is Brian Howard.

Pity the one running around with "Kanu" on his back.

Someone on another forum reckons Bradford's players were paid with the parachutes direct via the PFA when they went tits up. Didn't get liquidated but it might set some sort of precedent, Bradford being one of the other former Prem clubs to go into admin.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/b/bradford_city/2227522.stm

The thing is, even if the players all know their money is secured they won't advertise it, neither will the PFA or anyone else.

I managed to get on Pompey online the other day...massive LOL

Havnt read it for ages but had a look yesterday . They are having a massive communal breakdown. Not only hugely delusional (surprise) but completely paranoid. Some of them are re-reading various threads looking out for negative comments with a pattern to find pony fiddling infiltrators. Abso****inglutely hilarious.

Clearly anyone that says anything negative about the club is an infiltrator LOL .

I guess they have kidded themselves for so long about what a massive club they are with the bestest supporters that they cant get their heads around how **** they are and how no-one cares if they go bust.

You can compare to a born-again christian suddenly finding out there is no god.

DD is right, Norris has gone from glorious plucky loyal hero who scored the goal that kept the scummers down  to being one of the greedy mercenaries who is killing the club and should be physically threatened for having the audacity to want his own wages.

As we once again face a rewrite of history, it's time to make your mind up.

So was that trip to SMS a great day out for the bestest travelling 'army', or was it just a travelling insolvency roadshow and final curtain call for some of the stars who have destroyed pompey?

I look back on it now as a living museum of managerial incompetence, a farewell showcase introducing us to the last generation of players who pushed pompey to the brink - a sort ofAdministration Live without Robert Peston.

Yep, I was disappointed at the time but on reflection it was nice to see the players who banged in the last coffin nails - like there is any room left on the lid!

A parade of high wage earners who crippled the club, presented to us so we could show our gratitude, and ironically the point and bonus they got that day was just another little dent in the costs - every bit helps. ;)

And next up we have Kanu, he's milked them for millions and has done more damage to pompey than the Luftwaffe ever managed, cue polite applause from bewildered SMS crowd.

So when pompey came to SMS we should have shown them all more respect, even the likes of Rocha.

He might look like a swarthy Romanian horse thief and dog rapist blessed with the ball skills of a lame donkey, but without his wages they would be better off, so well done mate.

Kanu, Ben Haim, Kitson, Lawrence, Norris, Varney and all the other relegated players - they all did sterling work and WE were lucky enough to see their farewell tour.

I salute them.

Dear Adam et al.

Guys. We understand you trying to defend the right to the fans to have a football club.

But, there is ONE huge point that you all keep missing that has been recorded in 1,348 pages here.

At NO time since Sacha left the club has pcfc EVER had a viable, solvent, actual or even "legal" owner.

not ONCE.

Now, we understand that the fans are not at fault, and we understand that the suckers who gave the club credit in those years are not at fault. EQUALLY, the PLAYERS are not at fault. They HAVE helped the club

They HAVE taken wage deferrals.

They COULD have left back in January or even last summer.

But they have been conned as much as every one else. It is NOT their fault.

There is ONLY one group at fault here.

It is you fans.

If WE could see it so clearly when you were LAST in Admin, how crooked and corrupt your club was, how crooked your new owners were alleged to be..

WHY THE HELL DID YOU NOT START THE PHEONIX CLUB WHEN YOU HAD A CHANCE.

Christ, we even said we'd try and HELP you.

So Adam.

STFU and don't you DARE ever try and commentate on a Saints game again. You are NOT impartial and you are NOT aware of all the facts and WE DO NOT WANT TO HEAR YOU

Hmm now Blackmore is a BBC employee and therefore supposed to be impartial, wonder how his employers would view his comments especially in view of the recent twitter comments by footballers and the outrage in the written press

seems to me he should actually consider the fact that most people live within their means, as its always said to be a short career suppose the deferred payments are towards a pension scheme?

the players signed contracts, the club willingly gave them,

TB really is in the last chance saloon, why would a club pay for these players if Pompey go pop they are as cheap as a Bosman

Here's hoping Blackmores not stupid enough to spout off on air as acomplaint to the Beeb and career finished with no parachute payment!

Birch is now saying that if those 8 senior players dont leave, DFCSB cannot start the season. He is also indicating there is no interest in them (why should there be, they will be FREE in 2 weeks time...). It really is 23:59 for Pompey...

FFS keep up

That was at least an hour ago. ;)

Things are moving fast now
