Mr X Posted 6 August, 2009 Share Posted 6 August, 2009 http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1743204,00.html I'm undecided at the moment quite like the Midnight blue and yellow color scheme but something about how the patch of yellow on the top of the chest looks just wrong, like its been plonked there with little thought behind it... thoughts? Smirking_Saint Posted 6 August, 2009 Share Posted 6 August, 2009 Not too bad, probably couldn't have picked a better model then Wotton, seeing as he usually stands just short of the half way line like a manaquin.

The Kraken Posted 6 August, 2009 Share Posted 6 August, 2009 Terrible design. Umbro really should just pack it in and hand over the reigns fully to Nike.

The9 Posted 6 August, 2009 Share Posted 6 August, 2009 I'll be buying it when I get the time and/or spare cash, though as I now have 5 flint shirts, 2 home shirts and a pair of fluorescent pink Shamrock Rovers Umbro away socks from last season that may not be much of a recommendation. :smt107 I think it would look better in yellow with blue, but meh, there are some abominations from Umbro this season (Sunderland away and all of their new goalkeepers' shirts for a start) and we've missed the worst styles. Arizona Posted 6 August, 2009 Share Posted 6 August, 2009 Think it looks carp if I'm honnest. I think with the same home kit, we've got the worst combination of kits in living memory. Who the fook is drawing these things and thinking, "yeah, that looks good." The only stuff I like the look of from our new range is the training jumpers, but I've already got the grey one from last year and really have no need for another. https://ssl.saintsfc.co.uk/dept.asp?subgroup=9600&hotlinkid=200&sessionid=226917581&shopperid=
BlakeySFC Posted 6 August, 2009 Share Posted 6 August, 2009 Got mine through the post yesterday, really good quality well made shirt with some nice touches like the old school Saints logo from yester-year on the collar. I personally am bored with the usual colour away kits we've gone for, i know we won the FA Cup in yellow and blue but i personally have got really bored with that particular colour scheme (mainly yellow with bits of blue) and are glad we have a quality kit manufacturer like Umbro on board that don't mind shaking things up a bit and ruffling a few feathers...the flint away shirt last year is one of the best ever away shirts Saints have ever had IMHO, and the new 09/10 away shirt follows in the same vein. A quality well made kit by a proper kit manufacturer...i challenge anyone to put on the 07/08 yellow/white away shirts made by (S) and then put on the 08/09 home/away shirt or 09/10 away shirt made by Umbro and tell me that the (S) is better quality. The last years of the (S) regime were a joke, absolutely disgusting shirts made by appalling kit designers. Umbro are here until 2013 so you better get used to there well made kits, we could be a HELL of a lot worse off trust me(Joma anyone?)

Saint_clark Posted 6 August, 2009 Share Posted 6 August, 2009 Horrible tacky, typical lower league kit. Many kit designers should be sacked. You clearly haven't looked at the majority of other lower league teams new kits then.

IamLeGod Posted 6 August, 2009 Share Posted 6 August, 2009 Horrible tacky, typical lower league kit. Many kit designers should be sacked. If I'm not mistaken, Birmingham's home kit is the same design only light blue and white? So I think the League 1 thing is of little relevance. St Marco Posted 6 August, 2009 Share Posted 6 August, 2009 Also another thing is it me or does the shirt actually not looklike the shirt Wotten and James are wearing? I did not see the one Wotten has on in there at all, it is like it has been computer generated or something? The one James is wearing misses out the crest from 1885 with the new crest over it (at least i can't see it!).

St Marco Posted 6 August, 2009 Share Posted 6 August, 2009 Not sure if ya talkin about the example picture on here that I photoshoped or the one on the OS? I mean the one Wotten is wearing in the photo a few posts above, the long sleave shirt. I did not see a shirt looking like that in the store. And James' one looks way too light as you can see the stripes clearly running down it where as on the one i have it is much darker and have to be up very close to see the stripes. If you look at the pics on the Saints photos vs Ajax you can see what i mean http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1726966,00.html Very dark. I didn't like the kit when I first saw it, and still don't on the OS pics advertising it, but I thought it looked quite good on the pics from the Ajax game. Maybe I am getting used to it?
