Be a good home crowd too for this one, been a while since we've played there, looks like we might have the open end behind the goal? I think only Leeds and Bristol Rovers are the teams recently who have taken enough to get that end.

Yep. We've sold the 1200 allocation along the side in the Arkells stand and we've not had two allocations of 500 on the Stratton Bank behind the goal. Should be a good one.

I'll be surprised if we don't sell out the whole end behind the goal.

In total, with the Arkells stand at the side and Stratton Bank behind the goal, the maximum allocation is 3,300..

We've currently got a maximum allocation of 2,200.. There's still well over a 1,000 that we'd need to sell, to completely sell out, which I can't see being possible in 5 days..

I am in Reading that day but have never been to Swindon (sorry!) can you park near the new ground

My mate who has a season ticket at Swindon parks in the car park of the big 24 hour Tesco store right behind the County Ground. You can walk through a passageway next to the store to get to the stadium. It's free, and unlike at Coventry's stadium Tesco don't seem to care about football fans using their car park.

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=tesco&sll=51.567554,-1.770365&sspn=0.003435,0.011362&ie=UTF8&radius=0.24&rq=1&ev=zi&ll=51.568134,-1.770365&spn=0.003434,0.011362&t=h&z=17&iwloc=A

I can also recommend a fish and chip shop near the County Ground, the Frying Fish. Just across the Magic Roundabout from the stadium, opposite the fire station. They do a Football Special, a massive portion of sausage and chips for a very reasonable price (it was about £2.60 when I went two years back). Well worth a go if you're a fan of greasy foodstuff.

Looking forward to this, should be a good trip. Bit cheeky that the club are charging everyone an extra £2 for travel to cover a £20 levy fee on each coach.

so 40-50 (x£2 each) on a coach = £80 to £100, they appear to have turned a £20 loss into a £60 - £80 profit. This requires an explanation in my book.

Tell you what - I watched Swindon a couple of times last season. They'd have destroyed our team with Wotte and the kids.

BUT... not so sure now. AP and his buys are giving me a steady increase in confidence. :)

really? We werre shot but they only just avoided relegation themselves from the league below.

Yep. Worrying isnt it. The times I saw them they put the kids and Wotte/JP to shame - totally honestly, relegation to League 2 wouldve been a dead cert this season with Wotte/Lowe continuing the kids experiment IMHO.

Phew.

Don't hold your breath on getting one though.Even if they charged everyone an extra £1 they'd still end up with a profit.

I'm even going to this one with the missus.

It cost me £45 (this the real reason I don't go to games much) but I'm sitting amongst the locals. I shall be walking to the ground because I live in Swindon.

My Town supporting mates think Saints will win and the main problem with Swindon is they have no one to score goals. Low scoring maybe?

Mind you all these comments were after the 5-0 loss but not before the 4-1 away win.

Who knows with football and in particular Saints!

Now, I understand that you are all far too polite to make comment on a serious Swindon matter, so I will have to do it for you - I am not afraid to confront such thorny issues head - on.

It concerns the blinding error in the design of the Swindon Town crest which I am sure you have also noticed.

The silhouetted steam locomotive is, as we all know, a Great Western Railway 2-6-2 Prairie Tank. Being a Tank engine, it would carry it's water supply either side of the boiler, NOT in a tender which is depicted behind the loco.

If you are all as outraged at this mistake as I, then I ask you all to boycott the match. I have spoken to Alan Pardew, and he has agreed to refuse to play the fixture until the crest is corrected.

I'm sorry, but enough is enough!

Its good that the important matters of life get debated on this forum.

I agreebut with your comments (despite knowing nothing about trains) think we should still play the game - despite them making such a crass mistake. Could you summarise your views on their crest into a pithy, witty song that we could all sing at the Swindon fans??

Thanks
