Rasiak to leave then.

Off then (if the right offer comes in)

Southampton manager Alan Pardew expects striker Grzegorz Rasiak to leave the club before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.

Rasiak, 30, spent last season on loan at Watford, where he scored 10 goals, and has made no secret of his desire to leave St Mary's.

Pardew told BBC Radio Solent: "Greg's motivation is still that he wants to move on.

"If the bid that we're expecting does arrive, then he will move on."

Swansea have been linked to Rasiak, with boss Paulo Sousa confirming he had enquired about the former Polish international.

Rasiak appeared as a second-half substitute for Saints in their Carling Cup win over Northampton on Tuesday.

The 30-year-old, whose former clubs include Derby and Spurs, has only made 26 appearances for Southampton in the last two seasons.

You have got to love the iPhone predictive text function. It can make you look a right plank. Key in a great piece of slang or a name, and the iPhone kindly replaces it with what it thinks you meant. Radial is a pretty good replacement for those who think he is a tyre kicker though.

It will need a team to come in for him, pay a decent fee added to his enormous wages.

If he doesn't take a pay cut he may well be staying. I don't think he will take a pay cut unless it is one of the top CCC teams. Same with Saganowski.

If he goes I say we try and get Billy Sharp on loan. According to Radio Sheffield he is set to move to MK Dons for a season.

That would be a brilliant move, There was speculation a couple of seasons ago that Saints might go for him then. A top scorer at this level, though has found it tougher in the CCC.

Very, very good shout. Sheff United have told him he's not needed and the way Blackwell blasted the players after the cup defeat as useless states he could well be off sooner rather than later (He did score in the match mind)....he can score goals at this level and is that faster, smaller striker who with Lambert could scare defences.

Really really hope he doesnt go. He is by by far the best striker currently on the books.

He may be our best striker but in League 1 Lambert will score more goals than him so at this time, in this league Lambert is our best striker by far.

its been reported that Reading have put in a £500k bid for Rasiak this morning. I say take it and have done with him and his moody attitude.

Swansea can have the other grumpy Pole as well, just give us the money.

Yes but on Wednesday after the Huddersfield and Swindon games

AP really talks him up in today's Echo, says "you can leave if you want to but I really want you to stay... "

He'll stay, it's Sagalotski who will disappear now that Rick the Brick is here.

Raz & Rick, something sounds good about that.

Be very afraid 'Uddersfelt, very afraid!

Do you have an iPhone?

We should tell them £1 million at least, or they can go and take a running jump. We don't have to sell anymore. Lambert was £1 million, so I don't see why Rasiak would be less.

Maybe his age? - but agree, it does seem low to me too. Sure Pards will cut a decent deal if it does go through. Swansea were reportedly interested too, so that might drive the fee up.

We will get nothing like £1M for him ..... because he WANTS too much

NO CCC club is likely to pay what he wants ... so, the only way to get rid of him is to virtually GIVE HIM AWAY

Allegedly Watford were offering £500K ... until they found out what he wants per week .....£500K would equall £10K a week for a year .... so if AP really wants to get him off the books .... we won't get hardly LV's for him

Me personally ??? ..... I'd do a Lawrie McMenemy .... I'd tell him he's under contract, and if he didn't make an effort, I'd make him train alone, and play for the Juniors ......

See how many times he'd be picked for Poland then

AP wasn't the one who put him out on loan last season ..... so AP, (and US ) should not be getting Sh*t performances from him now, whilst he is still on FULL pay

I may be wrong but, was Rasiak not in talks with Watford regarding a permanent deal a few months ago but he wanted too much money so they didnt follow it up. Or was that a different club?? He wants far too much money for doing minimal work

We can do much much worse without those Pole strikers in our team. From I see from the Millwall game, Saganowski looked dangerous and set up the goal for Patterson. But for the Huddersfield game, those strikers just never look dangerous at all apart from the corner that lead to the goal. Now we have the money and don't have to sell, keep Rasiak and Saganowski. They know that if they don't perform, they will not be included in the World Cup squad.

I know that, YOU know that ...... but Rasiak especially thinks he is about TWICE as good, and Important than he is ....

I just do not understand his logic ..... HOW does ANY player attract attention from "Bigger" Clubs ???? .... By playing well and scoring goals ..... Rasiak thinks he can stroll around on a Saturday afternoon, and not only get picked by Poland .... but get a Mega Bucks Deal from another Club

He is under contract to Saints .... if he doesn't perform .... he is in breach of contract

I'll say again, if he is not in the Saints Team, he will NOT get into the Polish one ......

Tell him to Buck Up ..... or let him rot .....

Isn't there an age limit? Perhaps we should just enter all our senior players into an U15's competition or something just to get our hands on some silverware?

I don't think we can blame the strikers, it's still fairly obvious that (although talented) our lightweight, youthful midfield (exc. Wotton) just isn't up to the rough and tumble of L1. We have to win the ball first, and then distribute it properly, without the first priority the best midfielders in the world can't service strikers properly.

Our two Poles have " peaked career-wise " and with a World Cup next year it's their last chance to get some glory. Even if they liked it at SMS it's no so impressive to score goals in the " 3rd division ", when a regular place in a good CCC team is a better option, and they compete for places against other Poles who are playing in Prem.sides in other countries.

Why do you think that Beckham wants to play in Europe, too ? ... it's surely not for the money. Galaxy pay him a fortune.

NO !...He sees one more World Cup chance and wants to stay 100% fit..and playing for a top side.

I'd like to see them both our Poles " stay and play ", but the truth is they will move anywhere - as long as it's UP.

Being on the " tail end " of my own personal career ... I don't blame them for that one bit.

Yes, they do ...... but they still want Mega Money .... and no Club appears to want to pay that

The only way that their Salaries could be funded by the Buyer, is for the Sellar to "cut their losses" and let them go for peanuts ....... thus allowing them to get their overated Salaries

As I have said, I would adopt the " You are under contract, so if you refuse to put in 100%, then you will not play, and if you do not play, no one will want you .... including your National Team ......

...... Over a relatively short period, that would work ...... because we CAN now afford to pay them .... last season we could not

Rasiak especially, has not given value for money for ages, and that is NOT Professional ............ Lowe farmed him out last year ...... why should Pardew, and US, bear the brunt of his pettiness now ???

There are several different factors involved here, both from the players perspective and from ours.

On our side, he is our player under contract. Why shouldn't we either want to maximise the sum we might receive for him or else keep him and get the most out of his ability to score plenty of goals for us at this level? I agree with you that if he doesn't feel motivated enough of his own volition, then he ought to reconsider his position if he is played in the reserves or told to train alone.

From his point of view, he must realise that demanding such high wages is an obstacle to him being sold and that if he isn't sold, his ambitions to play for his country at the World Cup will be right out of the window if he is playing in the reserves of the English third division.

We are under no financial pressure to sell him. He must understand that this factor which previously favoured him, is no longer there. Either he bangs in the goals for us and therefore raises his profile to such an extent that clubs in higher divisions consider his fee and wages are worth a punt, or he must reduce his wage demands to a level that is more realistic to teams that might want him.

As we are not forced to sell him, the ball is really in his court.

It is not the case at all for Poland or even Sweden. If you know who is Christian Wilhelmsson, he is playing in Asia now. But he still get picked for Sweden and although not always start, he always gets a chance to play for Sweden. The same can be applied for Saganowski and Rasiak. What did they do before for being included in the Poland squad? When Rasiak played in the World Cup 2006 finals and Saganowski played in the Euro 2008 finals, their form is not extremely good at all. Not many players will change clubs before World Cup finals unless you never get picked at all. Just look at Jesus, if he did not change club before World Cup 2006, he should at least be included in the squad for Sweden. There is no gurantee you will do well in the new club, so why change club just before World Cup?
