FourFourTwo: Top ten rich list

I think the fact he was completely unkown before the takeover and that Saints have slipped under the radar, a combination of the two....

Exactly. I don't think the football world really picked up on the significance of our takeover. Was the Notts County person on there?

Considering the figure quoted around takeover was a personal wealth of 2.6 Billion he would be in the top 5, above the glazers meaning we are only really shy of Spurs, Man Citeh, Chelsea and QPR for potential wealth. (Of course in terms of footballing results it doesn't work like that, bit still!

Could be worse, they were saying on Sky this morning that the new no-mark owner of Portsmuff (fake sheikh mark II) is completely unknown in business, let alone football.

If he does a runner I have it on good authority that Claude Rains or David McCallum will take over, though in a burka instead of bandages (for continuity)...

Very odd that Markus isn't in there. I wonder whether it's just becuase he's protective about his privacy so doesn't broadcast his worth - and being (semi) Swiss has very discrete bankers!

I didn't think Swiss banks were any more of a separate entity than anyone else's banks ? They may be more discreet though.

Liebherr is really a robot controlled by Lowe. FACT.

I knew it all along - arse!! When he looked all orange at the first game that's because he was still in undercoat, having been rushed out after the Pinnacle collapse.

BTW how is sunny Weymouth these days? - I lived there in the eighties down on the Quay.

lol! @ fourfourtwo for thinking they were clever including that qpr guy no one had heard of, but totally ****ing up and forgetting Liebheer

Which QPR guy no-one had heard of?

Mittal, richest man in the UK; the 8th richest person in the world; FT Man of The year '06?

or Ecclestone, the man the "owns Formula One"?

no but Sven is a re-entry in the top 20 managers, since his time away.

Just an idea; maybe individuals have to be involved for a full year before they get included?

thats what i thought before noticing the above.

Sloppy and lazy journalism, that is the only reason he isn't in there.

looks the more likely reason

well i really meant being clever and putting him top of the list, perhaps surprising a few people. but then again, how rich people are doesnt exactly excite me so maybe not such a shock i and people i know have never heard of him, even when the qpr takover happened

obviously not, but i knew all about him about 5 mins after he bought chelsea, which was sort of my point

anyhow i have learnt my lesson and will now subscribe to forbes magazine and study the worlds top billionaires

like a lot of people i saw that list this morning on sky sports news and wondered where our own billionaire was. and, again, like a lot of people, just put it down to bad research

well, thats my 3 posts seems a shame to have wasted them discussing my ignorance of the worlds richest people

They didnt have notts countys owner/s either so they must forget about lower league clubs typical **** magazines 442 use to be good now it focuses too much on prem and big time players and clubs from spain italy etc.. last one i brought was about messi back in july and i thought it was awfull.

That list is dated 06 Jan 2009. ML took over in July - maybe that's why?

They had the editor from 442 in the SSN studio this morning and asking him about the blue few's new owner and he said that he would have made the list if they were able to find out anything about him and ratify his "wealth".

Had a similar rich list in todays sun, again there wasnt any mention of Leibher

There's a top 50 rich list in the Sun today and he's no where to be seen.

TBH they probably just copied the 442 one or looked at a Wiki page which referenced the 442 one.

We are off people's radar at the moment...I don't think we will be in a couple of years though!
