Noodles34 Posted 3 February, 2010 Share Posted 3 February, 2010 You can only have one this season, what's it going to be? Me, and this is sad maybe and giving up a lot, but its beating 'them lot down the road', I'd take that because it could almost wipe them out. They are having it bad, in fact they are are worse off than we were (at least we kept our website!) and then to lose to us would be the ultimate humiliation, it couldn't get any worse for them really, and I'd love that. Wembley will be around for years, I am confident we'll make the play offs next year anyway, maybe auto promo and the JPT against Carlisle?? Nah, beating that bunch of sad. pathetic losers will do for me this season thank you very much.
revolution saint Posted 3 February, 2010 Share Posted 3 February, 2010 1. The play offs 2. JPT winners 3. Beating Pompey I've seen us beat Pompey a few times but I've never seen us promoted or win a trophy.
mikee Posted 3 February, 2010 Share Posted 3 February, 2010 for me a trip to Wembley with Saints would really make this season a great one. So.... 1. JPT 2. Playoffs - would be number 1 if guaranteed final place 3. Beating Pompey If we achieve reaching Wembley on the 9th then we will go into the Skates game with a lot of confidence. Toomer Posted 3 February, 2010 Share Posted 3 February, 2010 I've seen us beat Pompey, win the FA Cup, win promotion and relegated, win the paint pot and beat the Skates would do for me this season automatic promotion next season.
Noodles34 Posted 3 February, 2010 Author Share Posted 3 February, 2010 yeah, but my point about beating them is because of the position they are in now, up **** creek and we can lob out the paddle and hopefully watch em sink!

I'm fairly sure that beating Pompey doesn't mean they go bust or get relegated. It might mean some people can wind up a few gullible fans on the internet but has anyone tried speaking to many Pompey fans in real life? They're like we were last season - they can't summon up the energy for much banter because they're already screwed and they know it.

Dr Who? Posted 3 February, 2010 Share Posted 3 February, 2010 Just making the playoffs or winning them. If winning them 1) Playoffs 2) JPT 3) Beating the skates. If just making the playoffs 1) JPT 2) Beating the skates 3) Playoffs I just want to remember the last time we played them in the FA Cup what a fantastic last minute that was. I think they will beat us... I hope I am wrong! You never know in a derby!
Dr Who? Posted 3 February, 2010 Share Posted 3 February, 2010 oh yes and I am in the bracket of seening us in two finals and losing them both!! I would love to see Saints win a trophy more than anything. If the JPT this year and the league 1 championship next season..... that would be brilliant! Saints Champion!! Saints Champion!! Beating Pompey I've seen us beat Pompey a few times but I've never seen us promoted or win a trophy. This exactly. "They" don't even come onto my radar this season. Looking at it rationally they're a Prem team, and we're in League 1. We have bigger things on our agenda (promotion), so do they (staying in business, then relegation). As much as it would smart a bit losing to them, it's very low on my list of prioroties this season and I'd take a JPT final appearance and a few more wins in the league over one hollow victory against those bitter imbeciles. rocknrollman no2 Posted 3 February, 2010 Share Posted 3 February, 2010 Beat the Skates-I know it doesnt mean a lot looking at the bigger picture, but the bragging rights and the fact we may never play them again, would make a win sooooo much sweeter. JPT-Would be a great day out,but still wouldnt give me a feelgood factor that the above would. Play-offs-Dont think we will make them this season. Nineteen Canteen Posted 3 February, 2010 Share Posted 3 February, 2010 The JPT. The other two options are simply the work of dreamers. The important thing is we build on what we have achieved this season and ensure promotion via 1st or 2nd next season. Pompey game is an irrelevant distraction that has been escalated by our fans out of all proportion to what should be our real ambitions. In any event we can't lose the Pompey game even if we do lose the way that club is heading, can we? The only depressing thought will be those who hijack this forum revelling in their demise without a thought to how much they have enjoyed over hyping this game. Perhaps whatever the result on the 13th we may all be losers in the long run. Lets hope we have a day at Wembley in the JPT and finish (in points terms) nearer 6th than 21st and at the moment that doesn't look nailed on. Good post - if anybody saw the interview with the rep from the fans association who has been given a chance to meet the Premier League on Friday in an attempt to try to find out information on their club , well you couldn't help empathise with him. Noodles34 Posted 3 February, 2010 Author Share Posted 3 February, 2010 What is all this "empathy" about? I am sorry, but they on the whole didn't give a **** about us last year, they only thing they did was hope we didn't go out of business. Purely as a football fan of our club, they are the same as us, like Man Utd, like Wrexham and like Dover FC, but thats where the similarity ends (its what makes this game 'Great'). I hope they don't die, but to disregard this game at their time of peril says to me you don't really understand being a proper fan. They would have absolutely loved to have played us last season, and we would have hated it and now we get the chance to really 'do' them. They've just lost tonight and you have to say they are down now, what have they got left? Administration and a trip to St Marys, they must be bricking it and as a Saints fan I'm loving that (God, if someone had said after we lost to Doncaster at home last year how things would have panned out i wouldn't have believed it), and so 19NC you can leave all that moral ******** at your front door if you are actually going to the game. Empathy for them? Do me a ****ing favour!

Beating Pompey Have to agree totally. The play offs would be a fantastic achievement given our starting position and would ensure a great end to the season.Days out at Wembley are few and far between for us and a final would be a great occasion for the city but it's still the least important domestic cup competition. Local derby a chance to abuse the mongs down the road for 90 mins and maybe some bragging rights but in the great scheme of things not a priority for the club
