Will possibly go into central London on Saturday night depending on whether the pubs in and around wembley are ok or not. Bit of a hassle getting the nightbus back to the hotel so in two minds whether it's worth the hassle, also don't want to get too hammered - rather save that for Sunday. Decisions decisions.

Where's good for a good steak dinner in central london? or other suggestions for a good meal. Obviously nothing too fancy or expensve.

Hi Dune,

Get yourself over to the Big Easy on Kings Road in Chelsea. It's not quite central but close enough and their steak and meat it brilliant.

As a footnote, someone replied to your original post saying save your money as pints cost £5. They are exactly the same price in London as you would expect to pay in Southampton. About £3.20 a pint.

A few of us will be tanking it in the Hobgoblin in New Cross as it is owned & run by Saints fans.

It's right opposite New Cross Gate station if anyone is in the area. (Zone 2, 1 stop from London Bridge).

Really?

I go in there once in a while as I work next door - Goldsmiths - but never noticed any Saints stuff.

I've elected to spend a bit of cash on a London weekender rather than get stuck like anchovies on the train with a load of smelly saints fans, yuck. I think it'll be a good idea, actually. I will, as such, be out and about on Saturday night. Hopefully I can find some Carlisle fans and stab them, or something. You know how it is.

Or borough Market area (south bank of the river between southwark and London bridges -Market porter - excellent real ale pub - southwark/borough is the new soho/covent garden. Trust me, I'm a saints fan

I will be in Borough on Saturday evening.

No plans for the Sunday night yet - any good shouts?

Steady on mate, that's way over the top calling them anchovies.

Go to burger king and save your money for the £5.00 per pint your going to be paying all night!!!

I've lived in London for uni for the last 2 years and I'd generally say that most places I've been, excluding those right in the very centre, have actually been cheaper than most places in Southampton.

For anyone who likes London Pride- the Coal Hole on the strand seems to have the nicest pint of Pride I've ever had- not sure why. Oh and it's only £2.50 a pint.

Also if you want just like a 'snacky' lunch, check out Leon's on the strand, their salads are the topps.

I'm staying overnight at a hotel in Watford. Should be around Camden 7-10 on Sat night, then head back to hotel for MoTD.

Message me if there's a gathering.

Will it be a ground floor room or are you going to be brave and risk the stairs?

Pop in there next time we're on telly and you'll change that opinion!

I only live down the road in Brockley so as a consequence i'm in there often.

If you like Italian food, then I can highly recomend "Topo Gigio" in Soho, their is a pub right opposite as well, however, when you look inside the restuarant which will appear empty do not be put off as the main seating area is down stairs.

Oooh you're a cheeky boy, aren't you? :-)

I was on the 2nd floor, but I went up in the lift, not the stairs, and didn't look out the windows.

FWIW, as you poisoned the audience against swapping tickets, I had to sit in the gods yesterday. I have pictures. :-)

Thank you for your concern for my welfare.
