Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 1 June, 2010 Share Posted 1 June, 2010 Have them all! Maybe the Wotton to Exeter rumour means he'll be the one off and we'll be left with Morgan, Hammond, Stock and Lines to pick from?
LostBoys Posted 1 June, 2010 Share Posted 1 June, 2010 I thought this was genuine until I saw this was the Mirror. I expect Pardew will be in for a number of central midfielders in the coming weeks according to the newspapers. The St Etienne story is on another thread by the way. Wotton to Exeter please - a good servant to the club but way past his best.
JustMike Posted 1 June, 2010 Share Posted 1 June, 2010 My Rovers supporting mate said this of Lines... "Lines can have awesome games, sometimes he will do gerrard esque runs through the heart of the opposition. sometimes his passing will let him down though. You can do better in my opinion, but you're welcome to him! He can take a mean free kick,tho... you have Lambert,so..."

Window Cleaner Posted 1 June, 2010 Share Posted 1 June, 2010 Worst thing about Stock is that he has a poor injury record... still he comes from Winchester (or somewhere around there) and does facebook so that makes him good right !! We could do so much better than he, by keeping Morgan for starters.

Ok then... Agree about keeping morgan though, but if the rumours are true i'm sure we'd bite Doncasters arm off for him.

I've been reading Portail Vert 51 (ASSE Forum), the news has reached them (via reports from the Sun) and they are quite surprised that it would cost them 1 million euros for a Division 3 player, obviously a lot of idiots on there as well. Stock played very little part in doncaster's campaign last season so wherever they finished wasn't much to do with him.
Chez Posted 1 June, 2010 Share Posted 1 June, 2010 Lines signed a new deal. Not the sort of thing you do if a bigger club have indicated that they intend to sign you. He would have been available on a free and now a fee would be required. That fee could have been added to his weekly wage. I very much doubt Lines is coming here. He also played in the Wales friendly at the weekend, he's obviously highly rated if he's played a limited amount of games but still making the starting 11. Granted its only wales, but still! Interesting how they know that lines has a £500k release clause in his contract (assuming they do know!) - his agent releasing the details perhaps? sambosa75 Posted 2 June, 2010 Share Posted 2 June, 2010 The contract was signed in January. I'd imagine Lines and Rickie are maybe still mates though. Lines would be aware of the clause in his contract and probably quite fancies the move after hearing Rickie bang on about how great he club is and how much he is enjoying himself and told Rickie of the clause, hoping he'd let Pardew know. (not THE) Kevin Moore Posted 3 June, 2010 Share Posted 3 June, 2010 Lines signed a new deal. Not the sort of thing you do if a bigger club have indicated that they intend to sign you. He would have been available on a free and now a fee would be required. That fee could have been added to his weekly wage. I very much doubt Lines is coming here. The source I read was that he had a clause inserted where he could talk to any club that offerd £500k, so it might have been a deal struck to keep his options open but that ensured the club didn't lose out when he moved on. I'd like to think that not all players are money grabbing mercenaries but time will tell I guess.
saint peach Posted 3 June, 2010 Share Posted 3 June, 2010 http://www.thestar.co.uk/rovers/Southampton-linked-with-new-move.6337878.jp I worked with the guy who wrote this article for a couple of years and I know he has very strong contacts within Doncaster. He knows all the players and staff so wouldn't write the story if it was not based on fact.
The9 Posted 3 June, 2010 Share Posted 3 June, 2010 The contract was signed in January. Maybe Rickie and Lines chatted about it when Saints murdered them after that then ? Its hardly unheard of for ex-teammates to try and get each other decent moves to one of their new clubs.
