Traditional Kit

I except I lost the argument about the new gash, sorry slash, kit versus red and white stripes. Not for the first time I'm on the wrong side of popular opinion.

However, I would like to point out to all those, including the OS, who keep calling the sash kit our traditional kit, that it isn't. It's our original kit.

The red and white stripes is our traditional kit, and will remain so until we've played in the sash kit for 100 plus years.

For those who doubt me look up in the OED with definition of both words.

COYR (if we can still say that in a predominantly white kit)

I much prefer the old slogan "Come on you Saints" to be honest, so playing in white with red sash is fine. Actually it's more than fine - it might be THE kit - the one that helps define a future that will see us more successful than ever before. Plus there are fewer teams across the top divisions playing in this style (how many in red & white stripes - 4 or 5?).

I agree I personally will be a bit sad if I the year we get promoted we aren't wearing the hallowed red and white striped shirt. Not that I want to wait until be get that strip back of course.

Simple, buy last year's home kit and next year's special sash kit, cut them in half, and sew the back side of last year's kit onto the front of next years. Sash at the front, stripes at the back, problem solved, except for the backlash you'll get on here for destroying two Saints kits, and the backlash from the missus for messing up her sewing kit.

Agree with you Docker. The sooner we are back to red and white stripes, the better.

I agree!.........that got me thinking, I also think that we should go back to the days when someone had to walk infront of a motor vehicle waving a red flag to warn other road users.

"Saints can also reveal that details of the 10/11 Away Kit will be unveiled within the next couple of weeks. As ever, details will be announced first on the Club's official website."

That was posted on the day of the home kit release, and the steward in the shop said it would be in 2 weeks time.

Going by recent communications from the club, 'a couple of weeks' might mean a month. I'd expect it to be sometime in the next week.

I personally remember many bad times seeing saints playing in the red and white stripes so not bothered about them really.

I would not shed a tear if I never saw the stripes again and I have been watching and supporting saints for 45 years.

As someone mentioned earlier, if they win promotion I dont care what kit they wear.
