From a selfish point of view, fandabadosi, as I'll be sat in some Turkish bar drinking cheap Turkish lager now watching events unfold at home.

Last year they came to the rescue in Bulgaria for the Millwall game. Good on Sky.

I would however have a completely different opinion if I was back in Southampton. F***ing Sky wan..................

Sky 1 NC O

A low-key start to our promotion season.

Millwall at St Mary's on the opening day last season, a Sky live game at 12:45pm, 20,103 people turned up and that was a campaign where Saints weren't favourites to win the League. If anything the attendance will be higher than the Millwall game as expectations of promotion are much higher this season. Also you forget Sky are paying the club to show the game.

Looks like we will be starting with a defeat.

We never win League matches on tele, we never beat teams with new managers and we never win on the opening day.

Suspect the gate will be reduced by 3,000 now. **** off Sky.

feck me..we could break a few bad habbits here

I don't beleive clubs have to accept their game being choose. For. ? In which case Cortese must be happy with the money Sky are paying SFC.

Correct. In the Premier League, it's a contractual obligation, but it's entirely optional in the Football League. However, any club rejecting the "opportunity" to be shown live on Sky runs the risk of simply not being picked again.

Over 20k were at St Mary's for opening game last season, which was also a lunch time kick off Live on Sky.

This season Saints are promotion favourites which should help boost crowds.

With administration it was no suprise to see a big attendance that game.

This season we will have less season ticket holders.

We used to be a crap team that lost lots of games including those on Sky.

Now we are a good team so we will win lots of games including those on Sky

I suspect that's not the point being made.

The lack of pre-match drinking time is a bit annoying, IMO.

Thank fuff for that I dont get back from holiday until the 11th was gutted I was missing a home game get in. Now all I need is the Bournemouth game to be on telly and I am sorted.

UTS

And if Sky could just stretch themselves for the away game at MK Dons too I wouldn't have missed a match before getting back for Orient home.

Wahey.

But Sky are allowing half an hour less time for the anaesthetic to work.... I should be there, though. Last year I appreciated a sunny pint (or 3?) at The Platform Tavern. Just hope the weather is as good this year.
