Pearson to Hull

Seems to be a very strange move on first sight, althought I tend to sit with Alps on this one, I don't think that Milan is the most (how shall we say) sympathetic or understanding employer. Still wish NP well though - future England manager anybody..???

Wishes NP all the best. In a sport full if charlatans, he always comes across as a decent person with honesty and integrity. Here is another chance to show his detractors on here that he is a very capable manager. What he achieved at Leicester was outstanding and if he can get Hull back up this coming season, he will cement his reputation as one of the best managers in English football.

This is very strange, but I don't buy into the problems Mandaric has with some managers. His comments on Pearson have been good and there looks no sign of him not rating Pearson prior. Mandaric has taken a big hit during this latest recession along with forthcoming court dates with HMRC and I would guess the answer lies more in that area than another.

We won't get anything from Pearson, but something has definitely spooked him.

Promotion from League One with the richest club in the division that season. And a play off finish in the CCC. Breathtaking. Move over Sir Alex, there's a new king in town.....

Nige is a perfectly fine manager but he has achieved absolutely nothing to have any kind of reputation as "one of the best managers in English football" to "cement".

Calm Down.

was a big supporter of Pearson when he was here and was amazed when he wasn't signed up by Lowe. Having lived there for a few years I'm very pleased he has got the 'ull job. Despite the promotion I couldn't stick Brown and feel the fans there have now got a very good man in charge. So far he has done very little wrong in management. I know that can't last forever unless of course he is one of the best around, god knows we certainly need a few top class English managers. Best of luck Mr Pearson.

Both you and Delldays do really need to read what I said a bit more thoroughly and then try to comprehend it. I thought that my opinion was clearly enough stated and unambiguous, but you both chose to ignore the conditional part of it for some reason.

What I said was that IF he managed to get Hull promoted back into the Premiership, that on top of his achievements at Hull would qualify him as one of the best managers in English football.

By all means, dispute that statement if you like, but that is a bit different from the one that you contested. But as you rather sarcastically referred to Alex Ferguson, I'll express the opinion that should Pearson get Hull promoted and then get them comfortably mid-table for a couple of seasons, he might well be one of a number of candidates under consideration for the job at ManUre as Ferguson's replacement when he eventually retires.

You do note this time that I made those additional conditions again, do you?
