SNSUN Posted 31 July, 2010 Share Posted 31 July, 2010 Frimpong? Sounds like a problem I'm faced with after a bad curry, only with an 'f' in front.

Pilchards Posted 31 July, 2010 Share Posted 31 July, 2010 I'd like to add that you should keep an eye on these two youngsters at Arsenal, I know I am Emmanuel Frimpong - this guy is the next Michael Essien. Powerful, non-stop engine, he is a real beast in midfield. Destined to be a holding midfielder of absolute quality, England have lost out with him switching to Ghana. Jay Emmanuel-Thomas - This guy is built like a brick ****house. He hasn't actually got a permanent position, but I'd like to see him make it as a striker. Very similar to Drogba, powerful and brutish at the same time as skillful and sublime. Both will probably get loaned out this season, but they are both real prospects. boxosponge Posted 31 July, 2010 Share Posted 31 July, 2010 Would seem to both be good loan targets because neither will have a chance of being in the Arsenal 25 man PL squad http://www.arsenal.com/reserves-youth/players/emmanuel-frimpong http://www.arsenal.com/reserves-youth/players/jay-emmanuel-thomas

positivepete Posted 31 July, 2010 Share Posted 31 July, 2010 They're both under 21, therefore that rule doesn't apply to them. Indeed, the squad can be over 25 if the extras are Under 21. It is the over 21's who will have to go out on loan, perhaps this is the group that AP is waiting for?
Turkish Posted 31 July, 2010 Share Posted 31 July, 2010 i've been longing for us to sign a player called Emmanuel so we can sing the song... "he's french, he's quick, his names a porno flick, Emmanuel, emmanuel" Although this guy is Ghanian, FFS, ruins the song, might have to swap French with black or something else that fits. Has a bit of a Magilton pass about him, though. No guesses where any ball sideways or backwards to a defender is going.... Still sharp and quick in the tackle. The Kraken Posted 31 July, 2010 Share Posted 31 July, 2010 Would be quite surprised if he dropped down as far as League One; I'd have thought that at least a Championship club or even a low end Prem club might take a punt with him. Would be quite a coup if we were to get him.

Ewell Posted 31 July, 2010 Share Posted 31 July, 2010 I cannot see a guy starting for Arsenal in their prestige pre season tournament being aloud to leave for a league 1 club. Wenger hates his young players getting kicked in the lower leagues which is why he doesn't often let the best ones go out on loan. You are dreaming if you think he is coming to Saints! I think he'll end up staying with Arsenal now, he really played well in the friendly games and has kind of made wenger setup and take note, it's probably worth him staying around as he'll probably be required at some point.
