Justin C Posted 14 August, 2010 Share Posted 14 August, 2010 Just watching match of the day and saw the guy scoring a free kick for Wolves who flicked it up then smashed it into the top corner, I was thinking this is not the first time this has been done as Le tiss did against Wimbledon. I was glad that on match of the day they just showed Le Tiss's goal and said that he was the first to do it. What a goal!

Mr_Red Posted 15 August, 2010 Share Posted 15 August, 2010 Pretty sure that on 'taking le tiss' matt says that was the one and only time he tried that... 100% record. David jones missed one last season. Basically matts amazing. Moving on. It is mad how many saints players are still in the top flight. Van damme, kenwyne, bale, theo... Anyway I'm drunk. Goodnight x

Professor Posted 15 August, 2010 Share Posted 15 August, 2010 Is it legal under the laws of the game? Isn't a player only allowed one touch of the ball?

Fan The Flames Posted 15 August, 2010 Share Posted 15 August, 2010 Or this one from Ernie Hunt and Willie Carr of Coventry City. That was the donkey kick that was outlawed, you need to get the ball over the wall and down again quickly enough to be on target and the authorities should encourage anything that helps, plus they look great. SFCDan Posted 16 August, 2010 Share Posted 16 August, 2010 Moving on. It is mad how many saints players are still in the top flight. Van damme, kenwyne, bale, theo... x Sad thing is, in a fantasy league with a few of my friends, my team actually consists of only ex-Southampton players. Gonna see how well we do
Lord Duckhunter Posted 16 August, 2010 Share Posted 16 August, 2010 Matt said in his book that they practised it in training after seeing a foregin player do it.
saint1977 Posted 16 August, 2010 Share Posted 16 August, 2010 Am I going senile or did Matt Oakley score this type of free kick V Hull in our first season in the CCC? Kevin Ellison scored an equally spectacular equaliser for Hull after coming on as a sub if I'm thinking of the same game. Two wonderful moments in a shocking game. Gemmel Posted 16 August, 2010 Share Posted 16 August, 2010 Made all the more sweet by the fact Hans Segers, had been spouting off in the press ahead of the game that Le Tiss wasnt good enough for England. They asked Matty about it after the match and he said " I'm not sure why he says that, may be it s because everytime I play against him I score.
