I have and never will understand the obsession of a tiny few with a man who is A) Not a fantastic manager as they claim B) A f*cking weirdo and C) Someone who thinks disabled people 'deserved it'

I would never, under any circumstances be happy with this d*ckheads appointment, and some of you are odd.

Anything is possible. For the first time we have sacked a manager who has done well. God knows what stunt this CEO will pull next.

It all depends on how how you define well, doesn't it? You might think that he did well, but you do not run the club, so your definition is somewhat irellevant.

For the first time the club is owned by people who have the money to spend on making us a success. For the first time we can buy players that other clubs in the same division cannot afford. For the first time we can keep players here rather than having to sell them if we don't want to, because we don't need the cash. For the first time we can decide to forego a shirt sponsor because wedon't need the cash. In short, for the first time in its 125 year history, the club is run by wealthy people with ambition for success instead of acceptance of mediocrity and success being defined as survival for another year.

You are obviously so conditioned by past failures, that you cannot accept any other position as being a viable alternative.

And what is this stunt you're babbling on about? The dismissal of a manager is a stunt in your mind is it? Right. So why don't you wait and see who is appointed in AP's place before making judgements which might prove to be stupid by ensuing events.

Seems that there are plenty who would oppose Glenn coming back ..IMO hes only one of the 2 men i can see taking us forward with proven credentials .. the other is Martin Oneill and i think that one is unlikely . If Glenn REALLY wants to come back and complete his "unfinished business" with SFC i say give him the job.

eastleigh is right. Glenn has a point to prove with the Saints. I can see his appointment as a very real possibility. The vast majority of supporters where aghast when Sturrock was appointed in 2004. It would be perfect if Hoddle came back and took us back to the premiership. That would shut up the vocal few who opposed his appointment in 2004.

brmbrm you appear to take the idea of Hoddle returning lightly, well maybe you will be thinking again by the end of the week !

I want to know WHY you want him back so much? We weren't exactly playing fantasy football under him and have you forgotten that he utterly shafted us? What is to stop him doing that again?

Hahahahhaha............quite an amusing thread.....................Dalek, I was with you first time round and was one of the ones who thought he should have been reappointed in 2004 (and even agree Rupes was influenced by the vocal minority - and suspect we would still be in the Prem if he had joined), but jeez not now. World has moved on, Saints have moved on.............Dalek, it's time to let go, it really is!!!

Hoddle please, superb tactician/organiser - all the things AP wasn't.

Should this thread not be in TMS? (Maybe the regular posters on there would reject it as being too farcical)?! Thanks though, Dalek, for giving me a genuine laugh today amid all the "I told you so's" and the "We are doomed's" and "The Cortese is a ****'s" - you are a shining beacon of consistency and unerring self-belief and I salute you sir!

Totally agree, I'm still chuckling..........Long live Dalek!

In fact i think each poster should choose an issue from their Saints supporting past which they never let go of and bring it up at any possible moment. i'll start:

Not sure what Cortese is doing with this, but it does seem strange, he had better have someone good lined up. Personally I think this all started when Telfer played in the cup final rather than Fernandes, he would have made all the difference.

Makes perfect sense to mappoint Glenn. We are gradually repairing the damage caused by the failure to appoint in 2004, influenced by the vocal minority.

oh my god, fans fault again, didn't take long for it all to be our fault again! It was Glen's fault for walking out on us then? It wasn't Lowe's fault for appointing then sacking Sturrock, or for appointing Wigley, Gray, Redknapp, Wotte, Portvliet? It wasn't Lowe's fault for dismissing Pearson no, it's all the fans fault, the very people who actually stick with the club through thick and thin, buying tickets regardless of leagues, performances or managers. How dare anyone questions Hoddle's re-appointment, how dare anyone question Cortesse's running of the club after all he "saved our club" no, quite right it's all our fault!!

I am pleased some of you see me co called 'obsession' amusing. Well, they say that every dog has its day. There are plenty of so called 'eccentrics' in this world who after mocking and vilification are proven to be right.

Twenty years ago people were mocked over the idea of 'climate change' and look at us now.

Glenn Hoddle as Saints manager ? Why so hard to believe ?

My point is that the 'voice in the wilderness' may prove to be the voice that people will one day begin to listen too. That some may try to bury the truth but that one day it will shine brightly for all to see.

You'll forgive me if I don't sit around waiting. At my age you don't have too much time left.

Incidentally, MLT was at a question-and-answer session at a referees' meeting a few years ago and he was specifically asked about Hoddle. He said that there were certainly some games that we had won because of his tactical knowledge, but the players used to say that if he were made of chocolate then he would eat himself.

Dalek he's not coming back.... Just like he wasnt coming back when Strachan was appointed, when Burley was appointed, when Pearson was appointed, when porteloo was appointed, when woote was appointed, when Pardew was appointed.

Each and every time you have posted that he was on his way back. He's not get over it.

You say that "every dog has his day", well hoddle has had his and it's time to move on. You also say there is a groundswell of opnion in favour of hoddle. That is just the voices in your head i'm afraid

It still worries me greatly that you are in charge of educating the youth of this country. Give it up or get some help.

Glenn.

It's time to give up your obsession with Saints. We didn't want you then, and we don't want you now.

Have you not got a Spurs message board can you pester, or can you not just concentrate on your oh, so successful academy?

We've moved on Glenn, and it's time you did too. Let it go, or get some razor blades, either way we won't be fussed.
