Said all the right things and sounded like he knew what he was talking about. I know that's obvious but it was the way in which he said it. He sounded genuinely happy to have the interview unlinke some managers.

 

He referred to OXC as chambo which was a small but nice touch. He also said that if players wanted to play in his team they had to be fit. I especially liked the emphasis on 'his' in that statement.

 

It was the first time I'd heard him speak and it was by far the best interview I've heard from a saints manager in a long time.

I think we have a gem of a manager in charge who understands the needs of the players and the fans. I have a feeling we have just kick started our season with the WEDS result. COYR

That can be forgiven. I was talking with some mates and one of them said we have the perfect strike for now we have Lambert and Butler.

Good interview, though. Sounded passionate and seemed that he cared what happened. Also I think had a dig as the previous regieme regarding cooling down properly and that there must have been fragmentation in the team before he arrived.

Just listened to his interview on Saints player thingy and am just as impressed. Says it will take time to get us playing as he wants as he likes to have 3 - 4 different formations. Sounds like plan a, b, c & d!
