Hammond for me. Our midfield won us the game today, and Hammond just shades Chaplow. Chaplow got the goal, but Hammond's assist for it was amazing. He didn't stop running either. Jaidi and Chaplow run the vote close though, Jaidi was our best defender on the day.

DEANO!

From an expert...not me...Hammond was the man followed by Chappers..

The balance between these two in mid-field is about right..

Deano to turn his old club over on Tuesday night...pleaseee

No videos this season mate?

Someone dobbed me in I'm afraid and I can only post non-copyright vids now (however, the Brighton game may well be worth losing the Youtube Account for!). Not sure why they picked on me as I can find numerous vids from each game but that's life I spose :) Had my second and final warning on the last lot I posted of one of the home games ;(

Surely the football league must have better things to do than catch real fans wanting to post some vids and pics for their online 'fwiends'

You're spot on with the point about the balance.

It's the best balance we've had in the team for a while, a midfielder that sits, a midfielder that bursts forward, two attacking wingers happy to take on their man or cut inside - two natural sided full backs bombing forward.

If we can keep this team playing together consistently we'll do very well.

I do not want to dis Spiderman.....If he wants away he will be off sooner than later..

If he wants to stay and fight for his place he will have to up his game in many areas..

Will take a lot to dislodge our current two in the middle...He has the class but has let himself down..

We have youngsters on the sideline who will be taking his place soon..

Well done Saints, Well done Nigel Adkins.

Special mention from me for Holmesy..Lost weight, found some fitness and sharpness...now sustain by, hopefully, staying fit.

Come on Saints..Tuesday night more of the same..

Who voted for Holmes...really?

It's not unheard of for subs to get MOTM awards, this game isn't one of them in my opinion, but Holmes was very impressive when he came on, especially in the more unfamiliar right sided role. His left foot was delivering good dead balls, and one of his flicks looked amazing. I believe the last time I saw Holmes play, bar a brief subs appearance last season, was in the CCC, when we lost 3-0 away to Palace, and he looked shyte.

Keep him fit, and he'll be a real asset judging from his performance today.

I agree, but there were too many outstanding performers for me to even consider Holmes. Just wanted to know the reasoning.

Surprised at the votes for Lambert and Guly so far, and surprised considering the spread that Fonte has none.

It was a hard one for me to single out an individual today as it seemed like a big team effort, nobody obviously sticking their head above many others. Perhaps Lallana edged it for me.

Difficult this. Nobody really stood out and nobody was terrible. At a push I'd say it's between Chappers and Lallana and because he buried his chance and Lallana didn't, I'll go for Chappers. A special mention to Holmes, even though he wasn't on long. As one of his biggest critics, I thought that he was excellent.

imho Rickie L is now settling into a more supporting role. Due to last season's phenominal stats many i feel expect too much this time around, four goalscorers today telly me that the squad has grown into the joint responsibilty that is paramount in succeding at this level.

Met him after the game today too and he was pretty darned nice, and chatting to mrs L left me with the impression that it holds true that behind every great man is a miniscule yet substantially essential grounding force at work.

I voted for Holmes, he was immense in the short time he was on the pitch, and I suspect all the votes for Chaplow were skewed by his goal (same for Fonte), good team performance though, with only Dickson (all over the shop with position and passing for the first 20 mins) and maybe Kelv, (who didn't hold much and was too slow for their goal) looking below par. Of the players who got a decent amount of game time I'd choose Richardson.

I wanted to vote for Nigel because this the best TEAM performance I have seen all season.

We were "hunting the ball" in packs when we didn't have it and there was always 2 or 3 players making runs off the ball when we had it. Every player in the 14 played their part and imo it was not about individuals so I would like to vote for Nigel.

p.s. I believe Elphick & El-Abd picked up their 5th booking yesterday so both should be out of Tuesday along with Bridcutt who was sent off last week.

and to add to that, their other CB - Greer, was subbed with an injury so they're currently talking about giving a 17 year old his debut.

Jaidi was monumental.

I thought he was monumentally bad, lots of heavy touches, scuffed clearances and was at fault for the goal, got worse as the game went on and looked a real liability, I was afraid yesterday when the ball went near him. For someone of his experience he doesn't even seem to read the game very well. The sooner Martin or Seaborne come back in the better IMO.

No he wasn't, Fonte and Davis were.

Jaidi was 'marking' their goal scorer, he started to run forwards for some reason when their long ball was played over meaning that Fonte had to come across to try and make amends. If he was really as dominant in the air as people say he would have been under, but he misjudged it as he often does, its just that when he head it head, he heads it half the length of the pitch which is quite noticeable.

I thought Chaplow was pretty poor, apart from his superb finish.

Fonte a tad shakier than normal.

The full backs were both very good.

Something's still wrong with Rickie. He's never been fast, but he looks very leaden at the mo.

All in all, very pleasing performance though.

Lallana for me. In a powerful midfield alongside Chaplow, Hammond and Oxo, he dominated his turf, and did some awesome pressurising and swivelling to lose his tacklers and distribute. An inspiration. Had he scored he would have topped the poll.

Also, Dickson made a big difference alongside Jaidi, and linked defence to midfield with speedy runs much better than previous defenders imo. He must retain his place.

Didn't think he was to blame for the goal, but he did run the ball off the pitch a few times. Then again, it is the third division.
