Saints 1 Man Utd 2 - Post Match Reaction

Extremely proud, touched with a bit of disappointment since we gave that game away.

In the 60th minute we started playing backwards, FFS. And the substitutions were baffling. If we had kept going at them, it would have stayed 1-0 or been 2-0.

The referee was a t*sser in the second half. He blew everything for them. Funny how 4mins injury time becomes exactly 4mins with him when Manyoo are leading.

28,433 attendance. Poor.

Thought it was the perfect result today if I'm honest. If we'd have won you just know we'd have turned up against Peterborough with the "we beat man u we can beat anyone in this league easily without effort" attitude and lost. Chaplow was sensational today and his goal summed up his performance. Only negatives really was Guly occasional sloppyness and Lambert looking spent after 55 mins.

We produced a fantastic performance without Lallana against Man Utd, the first half I genuinely thought we were the better team.

It's a result and an encouraging performance that will be a big confidence boost, but won't let complacency creep in aND WE CAN NOW CONCENTRATE ON THE LEAGUE 100%

Thank you caps lock, I really can't be bothered to change that ;)

Good performance. Not impressed with the referee, makes me cross how everything goes the way of the Prem side......proud of Saints, we did well but just began to tire after the first hour or so. Glad there is no replay and in a way glad we didn't win cos of the fixture pile up. Let's ensure auto promotion now!

Bonuses - not risked Hammond or Lalanna, no cards and no injuries!

I thought second half we were second best - but for all that United were pretty tame going forward.

Onwards to Exeter - Cherries (silly name) only managed a draw today...still 4th!

Promotion always No.1 priority - but a nice day at SMS against the Champions elect...still it would have been nice to win!

Thought the lads did really well, result in the end was what I predicted so no surprise, but disappointed that we gifted them 2 goals. Had to laugh at WGS who reckoned it was down to us being knackered, when the major gaff was by a player fresh off of the bench. Interesting watching the last 5-10 minutes when it was blindingly clear that we were not going to try and get an equaliser. Might have been different if we had held on to 1-1, I think we would have gone gung-ho and either won or lost. 1-2 against Manure, no disgrace for a 3rd Div side, and we were by far the better footballing side in the 1st half. Harding and Chappers were outstanding.

Right, now for the League

Don't get to see to many games here. Very proud. Thought Chaplow, Harding and Fonte were absolutely brilliant. Thought we threw it away in the end, far to casual. Cant believe the commentators here though said it "ended up being fairly comfortable for United in the end". What game were they watching? Really ****es me off here.

Yellow for Butters, but otherwise no cards

Cherries won 2-1 by the way.
