Don't understand the hype over him, what has he ever done? Did ok as a nipper but nothing since

I kind of agree and it seems that the general consensus from Wolves and Norwich is that he's not quite Premiership class, but he's massively experienced at Championship Level for someone of his age and just needs a sustained run in a side..

Since leaving Bournemouth he has scored 9 league Goals..........

Is it just 'born locally' syndrome?

Possibly, but from what I've seen of him he does just need a long run in a side - how likely he'd be to get that at Saints I'm not so sure. He's only 21, so plenty of players of a similar age have taken longer to settle at the level.

Obviously I wouldn't recommend signing a player based on just the fact that he's a local lad, but given the choice I'd love to see a side full of local lads/those that supported Saints when they were younger.

Agree there more likely to show passion and work harder on the pitch as well, knowing there wearing the shirt with pride.

With regards to his goal scoring have a look at lambos Carrer between 18 and 23 in league one and two very poor stats since 24 he's been a top league two and one player and probs gonna score 15-20 championship goals as well this season, give vokes a good run and I reckon he would score 10 goals in 35 - 40 games as a 3rd choice striker and even more as a regular starter, but we need someone with fortes pace but lambos finishing IMO

Good thing no one else will be looking for players like that then.........................

OK, so we start him at 2 o'clock, and by the 3 o'clock kick off, he should be really buzzin'

How many players do we need in the squad....we have 24 already and everyone is getting carried away that we will sign loads of players.

Truth is they all need paying and a few of the current squad will need to off loaded first to make room.

Cant see saints signing anymore than 3 new faces.

Agreed. I think we only need 3 more tbh, as long as we keep everyone we have atm.

But those 3 need to be top quality that would improve us straight away (I.e Cork/ Danns/ St Ledger) etc

Cork and Danns would improve us as quality additions straight into the first XI as we are well sorted for squad cover generally but St Ledger has been awful when I've seen him play against us and that was against some of the poorest Saints teams in living memory. One of those three new players definately needs to be a pacy striker, make that two obviously if Barnard is lining up for HMP Winchester (hopefully not). The other needs to be a centre half to partner Fonte, as much as we love Jaidi he won't be playing 46 league games next year. I'd like to see a couple of the academy players - possibly Isgrove as a winger - start to get some sub appearances as impact players next season as well so that makes it all the more important to have a club policy of only signing quality players with pace that are almost automatic first XI picks.

Doesn't score enough goals to be a classed as a striker, maybe he sets them up for others but even at Bompey he was at less than 1 goal every 3 games.

Wolves....well 6 in 42 and on loan and for Wales he hasn't done the business.

Saints need a goal scoring striker cos Lambert won't score many unless we get a shedload of penaltiers again next season and I'm not sure Barnard is up to the level,we'll have to wait and see on that one.Connolly is but will NA play him? will he be fit? all questions which remain to be answered.

I agree, we need one of those and we are looking for the perfect striker then in that case, they are probably playing for Barcelona, Real Madrid, Man United or Chelsea and costing £40m+ so we should make sure we put a cheeky bid in.
