In the same way the there are supposedly Celtic supporters living in Lisbon after their European Cup Final win in 67. I reckon there's Saints fans stuck on the train somewhere around Woking still waiting for the signal failure to be sorted or the broken down train to move. They still think AP is Manager, and are hoping that we're into our 2nd season in the Championship after consolidating during the first one.

Great competition, you don't appreciate it while top flight but just getting to Wembley and seeing your team win a trophy is amazing. Fantastic support too.

Agreed. The trophy is irrelevant but seeing Saints win at Wembley, climb those stairs and lift a trophy will never, ever be forgotten.

Was amusing on the underground on the way up as the Saints fans seemed far more excited about being there than the Carlisle fans (who, in fairness, were on their second or third trip in recent years). So much for the 'Southampton think they're too good for the lower leagues' charge that some people tried to level at us.

I think after the previous few years, that day was just the icing on the cake.

I've lost count of the amount of times I've been to Wembley for either England games or gigs, though seeing Saints play in the most famous football ground on earth was special for me.

To be fair, England games at Wembley are utter ****e.

What a day that was! One of my favourite ever bits of commentary on that video, "you do not keep out a Rickie Lambert penalty".

For me, It would have to be the line ''And Southampton are running riot at Wembley!"

It was a great day out. Remember packing on the 7:10 train from Soton Central, absolutely rammed and had to stand up all the way there, but you just didn't give a damn as everyone just joined in the atmosphere. Probably the most enjoyable 2 hour train journey I'll ever have standing up! It may be seen as a Micky mouse cup, but it simply equates to one of the best away days I've ever had as a saints fan.

I can't say I'm any happier now as a Saints fan as I was then. Really enjoyed the lower leagues.

Damn straight. I went to far more games per season than I previously did (and have this year) in the PL. Even our disastrous last season that saw us relegated from the Champ to L1 had me at St. Mary's more than I'll go this season. And some brilliant away trips too; Leyton Orient in particular was superb.

I used to fear relegation from the top flight as an utter tragedy; I now know it is anything but, even when we had seasons when we weren't winning more than we lost. Survival day against Sheffiel United remains my top day ever at St. Mary's.

Really enjoyable day out. We still had a club to support, everyone just had a good time and knew it was the start of the journey back. Don't think that any of us expected to get back to the Premier League so quickly.

Just please don't start the discussion again on how many Saints supporters were in Wembley that day.
