SO16_Saint Posted 28 April, 2013 Share Posted 28 April, 2013 If you were in charge of selecting the new sponsors when this deal ends, who would you select? 1 realistic and 1 'ultimate' company. Me - realistic Eterna the watch company. Ultimate would be ABN Amro or some other investment bank with stupid money to pay.

paulwantsapint Posted 28 April, 2013 Share Posted 28 April, 2013 Personally would love to buy a saints shirt sponsored by Liebherr ( yes I know Markus was MALI ) Think it would be great gesture by club to have 'saints foundation ' instead of sponsor Could/would MALI sponsor saints to help with financial fairplay? I'm not sure that MALI Group are still a trading entity. I tried researching them a few weeks ago and thought they had been sold or wound up. May be wrong of course. Agree 'Liebherr' would be a good sponsor. For the sentiment though 'Dell' might be fitting, but as covered on here before - not going to happen. Badger Posted 28 April, 2013 Share Posted 28 April, 2013 Don't know if it was intended but that looks almost complete with a Mali type logo as well. But please, do not rebrand us in blue.

Certainly some of the MALI Group have been liquidated, Common Rail for sure, but it appears that Special Vehicles is still trading, the only part of MALI that seems to still be so doing. The Holding Company still exists and MALI International. Difficult to find out much because so many hits are about Mali, especially after the military interventions by the French. I'd like to see us sponsored by Cadbury's and then we could have Turkish Delight on our shirts. Would send our friend into melt down, people dressing up with his name on our shirts at every game. SaintBobby Posted 29 April, 2013 Share Posted 29 April, 2013 Given that players can wear any sort of name on the back of their shirt ("Chicarito" or whatever), my advice is that we ask a cigarette company to pay a mint for J-Rod to partner Rickie up front if he decides his nickname is "Butler" for the purposes of the shirt. Similarly, our centre back pairing should offer to change their names to Mr Benson and Mr Hedges. It's the future.

Avenue Saint Posted 29 April, 2013 Share Posted 29 April, 2013 It's gotta be the Mali Group hasn't it? That way we can spend as much as we want to develop the club without the financial fair play restrictions under the guise of "sponsorship". Agree with this! I know a good sponsorship deal is vital financially, but it'd be lovely to be so self-sufficient that we could have a charity as a shirt sponsor. To be honest, there are almost too many sponsors in football now anyway, the return must be so diluted and probably harder than ever to measure. It's hard enough to measure marketing ROI on social media, let alone on a team/in a ground/in a programme that is totally diluted ... ?

doubleonothing Posted 29 April, 2013 Share Posted 29 April, 2013 Seeing as Carnival UK (Cunard and P&O) are based in Southampton they are a big multinational company and we could have one on th home kit and one on the away. Either them or ABP. or the classic Draper
