saint1977 Posted 15 December, 2008 Share Posted 15 December, 2008 That is pretty bad considering the price. Real shame it's come after some awful results. A win in the last 2 and this could have been a huge attendence. Christmas games are great, no-one wants to be shopping the last saturday before christmas, it's cheap, and we desperately need a win and big support. Hopefully there'll be a big walk up. I'd really hope for at least 22k for this one. Trouble is Adrian, can David Luker and his team cope with a big walk-up after the budget cuts? The last thing we need is the IT system to crash and people who fancy the game on the day waiting 2 hours + in the freezing cold? Glad I've already got mine. .comsaint Posted 15 December, 2008 Share Posted 15 December, 2008 I was talking to a die-hard Forest fan last night in the queue behind me to see The Who last night at The O2 Dome in Greenwich. He was saying everyone up there in Nottingham is talking about this game & how important it is for them not to lose it. Seems they (the club & fans) are already eyeing this game as a 'must win' for them...so they're "coming prepared" apparently. This is (by all accounts) their most important game of the season. Let's hope we see it as the same!

Chez Posted 15 December, 2008 Share Posted 15 December, 2008 thankfully they like to pass like we do and don't have a big target man to expose our weakness. They are made for us and we are going to destroy them. Well that's what I have been telling my brother in law who's a Forrest nutter. Unfortuntaly he's been to SMS a few times with me and knows where we are poor and has written to Calderwood with his recommendations. This is the game of the season for me. I wasn't at those events but BWP and McG have been used as wide forwards/advanced wingers for some home games. It hasn't been particularly successful as both players tend to come infield and clog up where Lallana plays and I'd rather see us get in behind Forest. With our good headers of the ball on loan we can't just float crosses in but I'd like to see us drive efforts across the face of goal and attack the second ball if we can't beat them with height. That way, you bring Surman into play as well if he gets forward.

Our defenders may find that easier than a lump like Kuqi but we really have to get stuck into Forest in midfield and exploit the fact that they have even less confidence than us. I think we need to get stuck into them to create the space for Lallana. I wish we had a natural RB as Cork would be my pick to be the DM to disrupt Forest. Mills at LB and Skacel LM so we get some decent distribution. Not sure who I'd play up-front but I'd play 2 as we need the points, toss a coin and see which 2 from 3 you'd get from McG, Robertson and Pekhart. Surely the pace of those two will destroy the likes of Perry and Pearce, meaning Cork may have to drop back to defence as he is a bit quicker. Although we could really do with him in midfield. Blayney was really a one save wonder, I'm not even sure if he's in the game anymore, he was Sullivan's back up at Donny last I heard.

Manchester Utd tickets and lots of kids and friends. The price of tickets can't be cut often or maybe again, or there would be a lot of season tickets handed back, especially over 60's and under 16's at a fiver on the day. Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 17 December, 2008 Share Posted 17 December, 2008 Most definitely not. I said that you never know who might, as we don't know the ability of people that haven't had a chance yet, but that anyone suggesting they would for sure, or relying on them to do so was fairly foolish. I also said Saga scoring a couple last season didn't mean he would be bad this season, and he could score a lot if given a chance, and that John and Rasiak wouldn't necessarily score 20 just because they had before. At no point did I say that anyone would definitely do anything. The key word is could. Any striker could still get 20 goals for any CCC team this season. I would be amazed if any do it for saints, but it's possible. I didn't like players being written off before they'd played, but it's equally stupid to say they'll definitely be able to do it. Is there an opposite to writing off? Writing on? No. On another note, since when did 20 goals in a 46 game season make a striker good? Seriously. I recall several getting 30 or more in this league. God, there used to be quite a few on 25 or more in the 38 game premiership. 20 goals in this crappy league and suddenly you're worth loads. Or like Nugent, 15 goals or something, and 6m quid. Awesome. He doeth protest too much methinks...

This also includes the corporates and there's no discount on corp packages and therefore I can't see there being any more in there than usual.
