Not to stop us all jizzing ourselves for good football (which it was) - but this current Newcastle side our one of the worse teams in the league at present.

If you want to talk about samba football, go watch what Chelsea did to Swansea.... It was like us on steroids at times, and then some.

We played well, but Newcastle were awful, and had pretty much given up up by the 4th goal. A bit like the Middlesbrough game in the championship when we score the first goal and Lambert was actually able top just stop for a few seconds with the ball on the edge of the penalty area... that was a 33 pass move as well or something if memory serves.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQ9riwqUYsA very classy of Janmaat to go over and thank the fans for coming all that way, then you see Coloccini who's been at the club for years heading straight down the tunnel. I really hope for the Toons sake that Pardew gets the sack, they deserve so much better. Great passionate fans. It's a sad situation when you actually want your team to get thumped for the greater good.

Looking back on it although we did play very well, kept a clean sheet and got 4 goals.. we need to not get carried away with this result and come back to reality- Newcastle were absolutely dreadful.

Is the Alan Pardew, who some (arguably ignorant) Newcastle fans are abusing with such foul language, the same man who was Premier League Manager of the season in his second full year at Newcastle? The same man who also won the League Managers Association Manager of the year and is the only English manager to win two individual awards in a single Premier League season? Maybe Newcastle fans should check out his pedigree on Wikipedia. He also took their club into the Europa Cup as recently as 2012/13 by finishing 5th in the Premier League.

Obviously, managers make a difference, but lots of other factors apply as well, such as who is operating the transfer/recruitment policy. If all 20 premier league sides could be managed by clones of Alex Ferguson, only one Alex Fergusons would win the title and three of them would be relegated, so it's not all down to the manager.

Pardew has a p*ss poor side, whether that's any of his doing or not I just couldn't say. Surprised how poor Cabella was on saturday actually, he's better than that but just doesn't seem to have got up to PL speed as of yet. As for their defence..well it's just a shambles, they needed to invest heavily there this summer but they bought some more go faster stripes again instead.

and i think he did all that without Kinnear. It seems to me as soon as his circus turned up with Wise things went

I feel for pardew in a way

imagine if we had williamson at CB

Anita seems a complete non entity, as does tiote (just a thug)

Sissoko is a good player

Cabella is very lightweight and needs to sharpen up his defensive duties but has the skills

their strikers are completely woeful

they did create a couple of chances against us, but no where near good enough defensively

I don't beleive Pardew was party to who was bought, it is out of his hands.

Finally managed to re-watch the game. Have to say, Chelsea would have torn us a new one, maybe even ManYoo ,in that period when Newcastle had a bit of pressure, and chances. We need to fill our boots against crap teams, coz it will be a much tougher struggle against the top teams, especially when they've become more organised.

ermmm...this is different to every other season in the PL how? It's the same for all sides outside the top six. Pick up points against the average sides and if your lucky pick up a result or two against the big boys.

Totally agree, we won't be relegated for losing to the likes of Chelski, but for losing to the likes of Burnley and WBA.

Finaly got round to watching MOTD (curse of Iplayer)

And from the highlights Long is a real menace... He runs the defenders ragged and frankly he's looking very lively.

Also that pass from Bertrand was inch perfect for the first goal. Would be nice to keep him around tbh...
